Maybe it's because I haven't seen it in over a decade, but I have nothing but good memories of What Planet Are You From? and still laugh when I think about it. I'm honestly surprised to find out it's so universally reviled.

Not exactly related, but I had a similar reaction to the movie WILD GUITAR. It had a cynical take on the music industry of the time, yet managed to feel genuine in its creators' criticism and disillusionment. It was certainly surprising to enjoy a film from the same people who brought us EEGAH.
