The funniest comment I ever heard related to INCEPTION was from Jeff Garlin. When the film had just come out he was a guest on Doug Loves Movies and he and Doug were saying how they didn't like it. Christopher Mintz-Plasse was a guest as well and was flummoxed, interjecting, "But it was, like, the coolest movie ever!"

What bothered me about Match Point (and what drives me crazy that it's held so high in esteem by as many people as it is) is that I felt Allen had covered all of the exact same themes (and better) in Crimes and Misdemeanors.

I only finally saw this movie over the holidays…and was woefully disappointed. Martin's completely miscast, whether he's not a good enough actor to pull off the darkly serious stuff or too evocative of his sillier schtick as a preacher to be believable. And it's not that it's "thoughtful" or "avoiding easy answers."…
