This being a good episode doesn't justify treating Jimmy and Gretchen like we didn't have previous experience of them and having them behave like monsters from the theatre of the absurd.

I think I have the problem figured out. The reason the beginning of season 2 worked was because they had just moved in together and were partying too hard to prove they weren't boring. I'll never get the ratings on this site. They give this a B but the actual review is pretty spot on with the exception of claiming the quips are good. They are like Family Guy level obnoxious.

I think your in denial. This season is like the worst aspects of season one dialed up instead of what it should be the best of season two dialed up.
