You just can't have a great consistent show where the two main characters are Johnny Rotten levels of extreme. You sure can't make it to 30 and not famous and pull this sort of behavior off. They managed it better in season 1 and season 2 they dialed it way back, now season 3 is a train wreck. Lindsay's never made

It's hard to say with this show because as it's been described as having surreal aspects to it. But life where violence is a given whether it's Iraq under Saddam or urban environments or living with an a-hole Dad always has a surreal quality I think. Whenever someone has the power to inflict their reality on you

None of that bothered me. The Garden State comparison sums up what bothers me about the show over all. Has that same sort of emotion managing drug compressed feeling to it. I'm never too happy, I'm never too sad, I can't quite work up the energy to get anything real done.

This was my favorite episode so far. The best combo of funny and weird.

The best thing about the earlier Bourne's was the well staged, wall to wall action. This has basically NO ACTION mostly just people in Washington tracking Bourne (who is walking to meet someone) in a foreign city with eye in the sky BS.

This piece is dead nuts on including using "dark" TV as a contrast. This is a terrific show.

You might if you hadn't seen either and wanted to watch a movie.

Acting is so good at this point in history. So much good acting.

I think Refn missed an opportunity to go even more meta and call this "Neon Damon" and have Matt play the young ingenue or go even more meta and have the young ingenue played by an actor of different gender's and races in each scene (and never by Matt) but only credit Matt for the roll.

just not intentionally…

I'd take Drive over The Driver any day.

I walked out of Inception and pretty early too. Why would anybody walk out of Guardians of the Galaxy? I just saw it for the 2nd time and I liked it even more than the first. What a blast that was.

Bronson's a better movie than OGF but I agree. Both just traffic in the unpleasant with no redeeming qualities.

No sir, that's incorrect. That's blood. Too high up.

Grade inflation is a serious issue here at the AV Club.

True and you get to know it way to far into the movie and it's just a desperate "Chinatown" homage that doesn't have any emotional impact partially because it seems like Kim Bassinger is heavily medicated.

It's not great. It's struggling to be good and doesn't make it most of the time. It's too bad because Crowe and Gosling are terrific but everything else is a mess. You don't get to know anything about the girl they are trying to find to care about her. Same with the bad guy with the blue face. He could have been

I don't know how I made it through 30 Rock without close captioning. Thank God I have it for Kimmy with Apple TV.

Should have brought back Dr. Spaceman for Kimmy. That would have been awesome.

I took the Marnie/Ray convo to be a trial balloon from Marnie in regard to getting back with Ray, giving him the chance to tell her she doesn't need to be alone or possibly alerting him that when the aloneness ends they could get back together. She looked disappointed to me at his reaction and that he didn't indicate
