I'm reading Instructions for a heatwave by Maggie O'Farrell and one of the characters is named Aoife. I tried reading it phonetically (I'm from a spanish-speaking country), so in my head it sounded something like I-ou-fi. That was until the narrator actually explained how it was pronounced: like Eva.

That horrible subplot with Chuck's father in Pushing Daisies made me want to set myself on fire. That show deserved so much more.

I'm a big fan of Andrew Bird, but his political stance has always been a mystery to me. I think he's in favor of gun control, which would suggest he's on the liberal end of the spectrum, but I cannot say for sure.

A Shrek? You mean there's more than one?

Oh gee, I must've thought "fully consensual" meant something other than verbal, freely given consent before the sexual act. Thanks!

The dude says he was absolutely convinced every sexual encounter was fully consensual, but he's been proven wrong? Is there an infallible method of making damn well sure that sex is 100% consensual and not finding out it totally wasn't many months later?

This only happens once in a lifetime.

I really like Kat Dennings; when Marvel said Natalie Portman wasn't going to be in Thor 3 I was a little disappointed, because that meant no Darcy Lewis, who was way more likable than Jane anyway. Also, Daydream Nation is a good flick. I hope Dennings gets more work in something that isn't complete garbage like this

Uh, womenz have a womanly sandwich-making gene. Duh!

That seriously boggled my mind. Stern has little to no respect for women, and yet this dude seems to be under the impression that he's a feminist beacon? Huh?

That's the only thing I refuse to hold against her.

Ugh, I remember. It makes my blood boil.

She's an adult with no mental disabilities (unless being extremely frivolous counts) and she was paid to star in the ad. She may not have come up with the idea, but she agreed to participate.

And the idea that women and our bodies are objects that wear down with use, as if we were a pair of shoes or a cell phone. It's disgusting.

In spanish it's called Rápido y Furiocho.

Don't forget Chris Evans.

I could be wrong, cause I don't know any of the Kardashians/Jenners personally, but they strike me as people who don't give a single fuck about anything that isn't them and/or about them. Social causes? Only if it gets them likes and retweets. They live for money and fame.

"We also apologize for putting Kendall Jenner in this position". Yeah, the rich, white model who's probably completely oblivious to the political turmoil of a country and the institutional racism behind most episodes of police brutality is the one who deserves an apology. As if she'd been obligated to star in this

That book fucked me up. I remember staying up until like 3 am frantically trying to finish it. And the fact that Godess on Earth Amy Adams will be playing Camille has me super excited about the adaptation.

Well, he does have several songs with lyrics that fall in the Nice Guy™ territory, which is enough for me to feel nothing but disdain towards his music, which is also pretty generic stuff. It's just strange that someone that boring can be so ridiculously popular, but whatever.
