I really enjoyed this film.
I agree about the CGI heavy climax - it's a shame that they didn't so something more uniquely "Wonder Woman" to close the film. I think they could have crafted a more sympathetic and three dimensional villain and that the central "battle" could have been resolved in an alternative way

Reign makes sense. And they have more freedom to play around with the character, for example, making her look "Kryptonian" (i.e. like a human) instead of having grey skin, etc.

I thought comic book science had established that because Kara spent more time on Krypton with its red sun, her body was better at absorbing and storing energy from Earth's yellow sun which does make her stronger than Superman? And Kara has actually been on Earth absorbing energy from the yellow sun for less time than

"One of my biggest hopes for season three is that the show finds a way to re-retool James into a more effective part of the ensemble".
Well, one of my biggest hopes is that he moves back to Metropolis to be Superman's pal. Jimmy doesn't work as the boss of CatCo (Snapper as Kara's boss is sufficient). Jimmy doesn't

Wow. Apparently even Disney realises that no-one wants to see their new Pirates film.

I hope that Disney managed to keep Guy Ritchie under control for Aladdin. I really want the live-action Aladdin to be a good film, with an enhanced role and character development for Jasmine, but Guy Ritchie as a director doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence.

Xena: Warrior Princess? I think even Joss Whedon acknowledged that getting a Buffy TV series into production was made easier by the success and popularity of Xena, even if their only similarities were being female lead action series with fantastical elements.

All of this Buffy: The Vampire layer coverage is great to see. I wish that the 20th anniversary of Xena: Warrior Princess last year had received similar coverage, but I guess it just didn't have the same long-lasting cultural impact as Buffy (which isn't helped by the fact that NBC Universal appears to be put

"Though the Guardian storyline remains phenomenally stupid (again: why the hell doesn’t James just apply to be a D.E.O. agent?)".
Yes. Yes it does remain phenomenally stupid. I don't see how the writers can't comprehend how stupid it is. Even if they must use the actor for contractual issues or whatever, surely they

Rob Tapert is oddly fixated with decapitating his wife on screen! That's also how he killed Xena: Warrior Princess for the last and final time in the series finale. At least this time, Lucy Lawless got to perform the beheading.

Nooooo. Rob Tapert has so much power and has produced some wonderful entertainment, but when he oversteps his role and enters into the creative side of things, it can get really messy (e.g. the series finale of Xena: Warrior Princess and now Ash vs. Evil Dead).

I think Lucy Lawless just dyed her hair during the break in filming and no-one cared enough about Ruby's hair colour to request that Lawless change it back to brown or wear a wig.
It's a little odd that there wasn't even a throw-away mention, especially as Ruby's entire appearance changed somewhat from the

I would like to subscribe to receive regular updates about your alternate universe please. The loss of Kevin Smith was very unfortunate and much, much too soon.
Pray tell me, in this alternate universe, has Lucy Lawless finally landed a role which resulted in the widespread critical acclaim which she so richly

As long as Ruby (Lucy Lawless) is still around to make war (or love) with O'Connor's character, then that's just A-OK with me.

And that evil brother in "Altered States" on Xena. I think he may have even had a fourth role, but maybe I'm getting confused with one of the other repeat offenders who formed part of the cast of Xena (and Hercules).

I'm 99.9% sure that Baal has already been cast and while it is another Xenaverse actor in the role, it's not Karl Urban.

Renee O'Connor continues ROCking, just in small doses and on her own terms (i.e. directing and producing, but still acting from time to time).
I would be so very happy if Renee O'Connor appeared on Evil Dead, but it MUST be while they still have Lucy Lawless as Ruby and O'Connor's character MUST have significant

Xena: Warrior Princess!

And NBC Universal are still too foolish to realise that Lucy Lawless reprising her iconic role as Xena: Warrior Princess in a limited revival, whether TV miniseries or TV movie, would be one of the best things ever in the world of entertainment.

It also chooses to ignore the original series, including Lucy Lawless and Renee O'Connor who created the iconic characters of Xena and Gabrielle for … reasons which remain a mystery to everyone except those at NBC Universal who insisted upon there being absolutely no on-screen / canonical connection to the original
