The reveal that the Hand's reinforcement was Bakuto was groan-inducing for me, because the Iron Fist season effectively eliminated him from any serious contention as a major villain in my eyes. Especially since it seemed that Alexandra and Gao were hinting that some heavy-hitter was lurking in the wings. My reaction

Or a very small, meager one, depending on your perspective.

Not really. The good Godzilla movies are mainly good because of the supporting cast and the bad Godzilla movies are mainly bad because of the supporting cast. Godzilla is never good or bad because of Godzilla. King King is a little bit different, but that is because Kong is the most anthropomorphized of all the

It makes me sad that the AV Club didn't make it to the end of Game of Thrones. The discussions I had with folks here about Game of Thrones won't be able to be replicated anywhere else.

In the immortal words of Powers Boothe in Tombstone,

In this case, I think the simple explanation is that Dany is an inexperienced dragonrider who has only been in battle one time before and who doesn't have great instincts.

The Night King is the perfect villain for the nihilistic, edgy wing of GoT fans, because he's such a blank slate that they can project whatever they want into him.

NK: "All right, go get those big-ass chains from that shipwreck over there and send in our corps of engineers on a dragon corpse salvage mission. I expect you to double time it, because I want to resurrect this beast and get our show on the road."

I have to admit the episode did catch me slightly off-guard at the end, because although I fully expected Jon to emerge from the lake, I expected the last minute save to come from Rhaegal, not Benjen, and for that to be Jon's first big 'dragonrider' moment.

To be honest, I'm much gladder it happened this way that one of them being killed by Qyburn's ridiculous, bastardized siege weapon.

Basically, the Night King said the same thing to Danaerys that the audience was saying for all of the Meereen seasons.

But they set up a good enough sub-plot that subsequently got dropped to do what I'm talking about. After the Hand leaned on Trish's station execs to kill her interview, that could have easily propelled her into a sub-plot that she could have gone to a reporter like Page, who now has a reputation for taking on

For the most part, in comparison to other superhero stuff, I would say they are, other than Jessica Jones, pretty middle of the road in terms of how good I consider them to be. (Jessica Jones is a tier above that imo.) For me, that means, I regard them all as watchable and and I enjoy having these forum conversations

They were reasonably receptive to the Netflix shows until Iron Fist, at which point the claws really came out.

Having watched the whole thing (and without giving any spoilers away for those who don't binge watch), I would say I came away with the following impressions:

Mainly because he's basically a supernatural monster and people would have to invent reasons NOT to hate him in the same way that they basically invent reasons to hate Dany that have nothing to do with the way she's been consistently characterized.

Elected officials of Baltimore: "We voted to take down the statues and executed the plan."

Not exactly. I suspect the heavy wooden box on Qyburn's weapon conceals a modern tooled swivel that would not have been able to be constructed during the middle ages, but would be necessary for something that heavy to be turned by a single person like Bronn. There was a smaller variant of the weapon called a Scorpio

Scorpion is the historical name of the siege engine upon which the weapon design is based.

Well, a couple things…
