I've tried, but I can't understand all the love for Sinatra. I give him all due credit for helping start a genre, but after that he was just one of dozens of competent, bland male singers that epitomize the era. Beyond that he was all image, of which modern-day equivalents are regularly trashed on this very website.

More than likely, the blue dyes in the photo simply faded. I suspect the walls were closer to burgundy and the upper hallway paper was green. Notice there's nothing really blue in the image.

Vin Diesel demonstrates his vertical fingertip pushups while Paul Walker does them girl-style.

    "Is he alive or dead?
Has he thoughts within his head?"

"Eleven's the best. You'll cry your eyes out"

A vague notion of an idea here, but the Clara in the present has some of the Clara of the past ("why a nanny?"). Clara of the future has some of the present Clara ("Oswald for the win. Oswin!", plus the computer skills). I thought at first she might be the Doctor's regenerated daughter, but we saw her die (no light

Or maybe it's something like "Ring Your Cloister Bell"…dramatic pause…"And Run!"(cue My Name Is The Doctor music).

The "first time" would have been in "A Good Man Goes to War". Or to limit it to Alex Kingston, "Let's Kill Hitler".

"why, when the show tells a story about the brothers reconnecting with someone from their past, they don’t bring back a character from a previous episode"

"You doublecrossed the wrong GUY…you doublecrossed the WRONG guy…YOU doublecrossed the wrong guy…you DOUBLECROSSED the wrong guy…"

That's exactly what I logged in to say.

Easily my favorite of the 6 episodes. And that's saying something, as I love the series.

I remember going to see the original Alien on opening day. All through it I kept wondering when they were going to get finished with the scary stuff and get on with finding the alien.

    Generic AV Club recap boilerplate:

Watching Luck helps me understand why some people have a hard time getting into scifi and fantasy shows. I watch the show, I understand the words and the plot, and I even start to recognize the people. But I have no clue as to why they're doing what they're doing. I was 3/4 of the way through the pilot when it dawned

Is this the first episode where we can hear Howard's mother speak in a normal (ie: not shouty) voice?

A weird coincidence that I logged on here and read this (ok, skimmed this) not even an hour after I blocked this (and the other xian) channels from my DVR channel list.
