Right, I mean from the Doctor's perspective he know the Master redeemed himself against the Time Lords, so he knows its at least possible.
It's important to remember that the Doctor remembers with the Master stood up to the Time Lords, so he knows he will be redeemed.
I mostly know Richards from his Jago & Litefoot work and they're brilliant. Fitton does a lot with the 8th Doctor.
Justin Richards, John Dorney, and Matt Fitton are three that come to mind.

I felt the strengths of this episode (the performances, social commentary, specific scenes like anything with Missy) cancelled out some of the weaker moments enough that this trilogy landed for me. Also thank God they avoided the mistakes of Last of the Time Lords.
Yeah, you and I basically see eye to eye on this. I think season 9 begins and ends perfectly, but the middle run was inconsistent.
