Oh good, so superhero films are reaching the point of "what if all this took place in the real world?" which comics hit in the mid-80s. Granted it took the films a lot less time to get there so maybe in five years or so we'll get some actually decent films out of this dreck.

I know we're post fact, and post truth, and experts are not to be trusted, but:

Garth Ennis is a writer of variable quality, but whenever I see American neo-nazis it's absolutely that panel from Preacher I see in my mind as I think to myself "WHERE THE FUCK IS YOUR CHIN?"

Should have driven there in a Mitsubishi Galant.

Stephen!

Mitchell's only really funny when he's slightly fucked off about something- see his recent article about the quality of British food in the Grauniad - which attitude could have been difficult to maintain right in people's faces.

Wednesday is Lill-Lördag (Little Saturday) which is an extra mid-week drinking day.

Kebab pizza is definitely Swedish pizza. That and a shitty low-alcohol lager caps many a night out.

'The Prone Gunman' by Jean-Patrick Manchette. A slim volume and well worth checking out.

Does Javier Bardem smack Charlize Theron around at any point? That would also be very much in line with Sean Penn's frequent real-life activities, though I don't know if those are politically motivated or not.

Doubly annoyingly because the novel on which 'The Gunman' is based is very good.

So 90s = Rape me, rape me my friend. Rape me, rape me again

You're safe, mate. I love Grant Morrison and didn't think Happy was all that good.

I'm just not hearing it, could you elaborate a little on the "tough guy brogue"?

Your review is titled 'Nine Inch Nails’ new EP starts strong, but fades quickly' where as mine would be 'meh start, but holy shit that ending'. I listen to a lot of material people would classify as 'noise', or 'difficult' if they were feeling generous, and I've always enjoyed the way Reznor plays with those concepts

Saw Cornelius on the Point tour. Can confirm.

I agree with you wholeheartedly esp "When someone listens to this whole EP and that's the big standout track, I feel like we just look for completely different things in music." To quote someone on twitter regarding this topic "plebeian music taste identified".

I realise it may have come across like that, but it was absolutely not meant as such. I meant Jane Goldman writes excellent screenplays while Ross is the human equivalent of stepping on a rake.

Not sure on which level this fits, but smoked herring is also used to make böckling mousse, a key ingredient in many recipes for Smörgåstårta.

Now you're just bringing your prejudices to it, mate, and what kind of attitude it that?
