or Paul Dano spliced with Joseph Goebbels.

see, when you do some basic copy correction:

question for old (i.e. if you saw this in the cinema as a teenager or younger) people like me: when he smiles at the camera at the end, did you lose bowel control too? Just me?

Barry Allen is the greatest villain of DC comics, isn't he? He - accidentally, sure - did what none of the villains never could: effed up the entire universe.
Did any of the JLA ever notice that?

the Tamika Mallory and Linda Sarsour section on Pod Bless America was brilliant. There was quite a contrast with the rather bro-ish vibe from the hosts - felt like the guests sobered the show up a bit.
(And top marks for the header photo. I've seen those two in the street and it's startling. Made my Christina Hendrick

totally fine with that.

aw crap - you beat me to that by 4 minutes!

i hate to think how many of my favourite movies where made by other miserable, embittered assholes.

I heard a mix of both, particularly in the opening third (it has a very slow start) but when the action starts, I heard some real screams. It was brilliant!

from Inspector Clouseau to Father Karras is a helluva career.

oh, I disagree - it's totally lives up to the hype. I saw it in a mall cinema on a Friday night in the 90's (for a rerelease?) and the audience (mostly kids) giggled at first but by the end, where freaking out. I overheard one kid, as I left, say "I'm totally going to church on Sunday…"

to be fair, there was a comic-book store in Toronto managed by a guy who could have been the prototype for the Simpsons character, and I was kinda thinking of him. (Though I suppose most major cities has a comic-book store managed by a guy who could have been the prototype for the Simpsons character.)

you're welcome.

(ahem) excuse me, none of the logos on the cover are "real" (or even imaginary *snarf*) logos or even resemble any authentic 60's or 70's John Romita (snr, please…) art-directed logos. They neither have a passing resemblance or refer to classic Tom Orzechowski, Artie Simek or Sam Rosen letter forms. Poor job,

in Ontario at least, it's a race and class thing. As in, working-class white people = "eh" "sore-y" etc.
But they don't like to talk about it because theres no class distinctions in Canada and race isn't an issue, no, no, not at all…

you have a problem with Scott Thompson?

Benelux Cumberbund.

it's Comics Journal No. 57, Summer 1980, but it's behind a paywall

Freddie should have stuck with his cute French wife. Bel's lovely but she was a mess.

she may have been the best thing in the show. The way she spoke French said so much about her character.
Hector was an idiot.
