I wish my screen name wasn't as obvious as Davids.
Gotta go: MSG needs selling-out again…

the cinesphere is sadly closed too. Ontario Place is a joke now.
And I actually know where Norval is - you're right, it's all tract houses. That's one depressing drive.

is Oona Chaplin on Game of Thrones too? Who isn't on that show? (She'll always be Hectors wife to me.)

nope, no laser shows in the SkyDome (it's not even the SkyDome) or in the planetarium at the ROM.
(Where was the farm?)

yeah, Torontonians, Budweiser Stage is the latest indignity heaped on the old Ontario Place Forum.

I thought the Golden Age guys all ran a production line? (Actually, I like Byrnes lettering - really nice style, but a bit too "cartoony" and uniquely JB to use on anyone elses artwork)

yeah, the sounds about right.
Did you ever read the infamous Comics Journal interview with him, in the early 80's? I read it when it was published (I'm old) and thought it was hilarious at the time, but there was some mean-spirited stuff in there that, in hindsight, could be a indicator of things to come…

CTV are the only network showing it live? Any idea who's showing it online?
ps do you watch Schitt's Creek? I hear the second season is much better than the first.

yikes - what was that like? Did he say anything interesting/obnoxious?

I really liked Tom Palmer on Byrnes pencils for the X-Men book, and most of the regular Marvel inkers in the 80's (Joe Rubinstein, Klaus Janson) made his work look great, so perhaps it's the quality of the pencils. His layouts are certainly not as interesting as they used to be. Some of his recent commission work

Excellent take-down of Civil War 2 but the most important question - is it selling? If it is, they're going to continue to give Bendis the keys, despite his obvious failings.

when was issue 1 of Avengers Dissembled? Since then.

great review, thanks.
And why do you think Byrne inks his own work? Does he really think it looks better or will no-one else work with him/put up with him?

SNL is a franchise? That blew my mind…

or:
Artist: "if that guys sends me one more screen grab of Angelina and tells me to cut and paste it for three panels, i swear…"

Really? Wow.

don't think so, but there's been a few half-siblings that have emerged. (And yeah, it's fairly common among musicians, but this is a guy who wrote SLAVE on his face during a long court case. He's worked with lawyers and should have known about how the law works. I mean: why have a vault without provisions on who can

if that section on Schindler’s List is the best part of the book, hard pass - basically, she's saying YMMV…

still blows my mind that Prince - a guy who famously lectured other musicians about getting their affairs in order - didn't have his affairs in order. How could he not have a will? Surely one of the many, many lawyers that he dealt with over the years asked him that question?
