The show does not at all make out like it's ok. They're coming off as incredibly weird, which is deliberate (just look at the glances Phil gives them while they're sucking up to him), not to mention that Carol - the only one who's actually being herself - comes out ahead. We don't need a Melissa calling them out on it

    Heroine. FUCK YOU, PETE!

    If we're lucky? All three.

I'm very sad to see DeKnight go. The guy can't direct for shit, but he's an amazing writer. It's a guarantee that he's the only reason Fisk is such a strong, 3-dimensional character.

I know it's not probable, given the technology of the time, but I'm praying there's a scene where the boy is doing his intense outreached hand thing while looking at Hiroshima on tv and suddenly it just EXPLODES.

Yeah I'm not saying that the show will take a nosedive in quality or something, merely that they've all proven themselves to have differing sensibilities, and Daredevil is very suited to DeKnight's. For example, I don't think Fisk would have been such a 3-dimensional character if Whedon or Goddard had run the show.

It's not like they're clones. All sorts of people come from Whedon shows, including the guys who run that shitty Agents of Shield series. I'm sure Daredevil will be fine, but that weird mix of pulpy and serious was definitely DeKnight's influence so I hope they don't mess with the formula too much.

Only for a couple of episodes apparently, but I'm not sure you could even blame them for Shield. That show seems micromanaged to all hell, while DeKnight gets free rein for the most part.

Not a difficult question to answer: Better cinematographer, and a showrunner who's well-versed in a making a relatively low-budget show look like a million dollars. It's also not on ABC.

Can't we just agree that the way Bon Jovi uses language is wrong.

Impossible. Tom Waits for no man!

Sciencetologist? Is that the non-union Mexican equivalent of Scientologist?

Yeah, I think the original plan was that he'd be part of the writers room for the first season, but by the looks of it Gilligan's in for the long haul on BCS and I'm happy for it.

Same with the plot. I dig Flash and Carter but every 2 minutes there would be something that takes me out of them and reminds that "Oh right, this is a show for kids…"

Yeah it's great, just the fact that he comes off as actually human makes him so much more relatable to me.

The graphic violence just makes me like this show even more.

There's plenty ways they could do it but personally I hope they keep Daredevil far away from The Avengers. As you mention, there's a certain verisimilitude to it that would be damaged by having him meet them. I mean sure, he's still just a superhero when we come down to it, but a blind guy with keen senses is

And maybe take their own advice and stop making movies about "getting over themselves"

Yeah, Burr's funny as shit but to say he has issues with women would be an understatement.

There are a million directors who could've done True Detective justice. Finding a person of Lynch's truly bizarre sensibilities is nowhere near as easy.
