You also know how different it is when the promise of an extra long monologue gets me really fucking excited.

It's not only that he cares about what Kim thinks but that he knows that his covering for Chuck means that he's ruining his own reputation, not only in Kim's eyes but in the entire firm's eyes. He's tired of being the bad guy.

    Why not? Everyone else does.

Yeah, I don't really agree with that. One of the things that always set Stewart apart was his extremely keen knowledge of American history, one that went way beyond the prerequisite amount of info you'd bone up on before an interview. It's part of what made him a match for some of his tougher subjects.

Oliver isn't new to the US. He's a citizen and has been around for ages.

That's why they have to pick the person who could potentially have the best show, not the one they think will hold onto Stewart's viewership. Short of hiring Amy Poehler or Tina Fey, that's nigh impossible.

It's sort of an odd choice. Noah's been great so far but I can't imagine a foreigner (and someone relatively new to the US at that) possessing that same righteous anger at American institutions as Stewart does.

No, he's right. Some showrunners keep the title because they helped create the show, but end up taking a backseat to someone else.

Rogen is sheparding the show and probably writing/directing the pilot, but the head showrunner is Breaking Bad's Sam Catlin. I wouldn't worry too much.

Why the hell would it be a better story? Cassidy's story is critical to Preacher and removing it would be ripping out the series' metaphorical heart. Anyway, Ruth Negga is Ethiopian, so the show will still have a chance to touch on the south's attitudes towards black people via Tulip.

The cover for Suffer is on another level. One of the coolest album covers ever, period.

I love Recipe For Hate, my only issue with it is the production. If the album sounded as crisp as their stronger efforts, it wouldn't feel so dated.

New America is that rare BR album that doesn't have a single track I really like, I even have a soft spot for No Substance. That song about computers, oh man…

I dig Siren Song of the Counterculture, even though "Swing Life Away" was a sign of the awful things to come.

Yeah, it didn't signal a new era for the band but for my money, Against the Grain is the most perfect album they've ever produced.

"Shot by future blockbuster director Gore Verbinski, the video actually functions as an effective introduction to the band: erupting out of the static of a television set."

I loved Rise Against until I saw them live. Their pandering "sing your pain away!" bullshit irritated me non-stop.

I'd switch Generator with Against the Grain (anesthesia and faith alone are monsters) but otherwise yeah, great list and awesome retrospective. I also recommend Tested for proof of just how *good* these guys are live.

I haven't read that far in the comics, but if I were to guess I'd say that the show is aiming to make Rick the antagonist by the end of the season (for a few eps at least) while setting Michonne up to oppose him - over the last few eps they've been deliberately creating a Michonne vs. Rick dynamic.

I've seen all of the episodes mentioned, apart from the Archie Bunker and Gilmore Girls ones, and not one has hit me as hard as Family Meeting. It is absolutely brutal.
