In this age of uncertainty and turmoil, the .gif shall unite us in blissful, universal communication.

In a twist both amusing and tragic, the records reflect that Billy Bob Thornton does not have a daughter.

I fear both of those are true. But right now I need to believe they aren't. And that even if things do go really bad in two years, we will find a way to claw back from it.

I summon Chancellor Puddinghead! Who else among us is qualified to opine on this most serious of subjects?

Not gonna lie. That fight choreography looks really bad, and why do people keep casting Cara Delevingne in leading rolls? She can't act at all. (I understand why they do, but it doesn't make her any more compelling to watch.) Also giant sigh at boob armor.

I reject your fatalism. Not because I don't fear it, but because I must. I reject the notion that "Trump was elected, so let's go to Canada." I reject the notion that centuries of social progress will be swept away and that the populace will not rise to defend its rights when threatened.

"What about extremely obvious puns based on character names?"

That is definitely not why people are salty about TFA. I also think very few people are "salty" about the movie. I think a lot of people enjoyed the movie, but were disappointed it was as derivative as it is.

Even though I enjoyed it, it was pretty clear that the process was largely devoid of a genuine artistic or creative approach. Here's to hoping Rogue One doesn't suffer from that fate.

It probably made more sense before all the comments it was referencing got nuked (for good reason).

This is not going to be a popular comment, but I really like the electoral college. And, though it resulted in the outcome I didn't like in this election, it also functioned exactly as intended.

Which is weirder: (1) discussing things you like with people you enjoy talking with on a regular basis over years or (2) creating quasi-anonymous accounts for the specific purpose of griping about people you don't like whose opinions you don't share and stalking their profiles to find ways to make fun of them?

What is wrong with you to say that to someone? Holy shit dude.

I would say they should commit to doing the Dark Phoenix saga using the young crew from Apocalypse, but they'd probably ruin it, so maybe they should just stop.

If modern civilization ends before I get to see the two finale of phase 3 movies with all of the Avengers, I'm going to be pissed.

Yeah, I heard that line to be a reference to the guy who gets f'd in the HammerTech suit in the video Tony shows to the senate hearing.

I know fatalism is fashionable. My heart broke last night and I am devastated by what happened, but I am also oddly hopeful and have a great deal of faith in America to weather this storm. Trump is a total wildcard. I have no idea what his presidency will bring, but this is an opportunity for liberals to do some real

In the avalanche of changes that will likely be precipitated by last night's results, one of the major ones may be our entire polling methodology and how the results get reported.

I think there's very little doubt that part of the calculus of last night was a backlash to having elected a black man to be our president. There's no comfort there, but I don't doubt it was a factor in who went to the polls.

Let us usher you into the wide wonderful world of escapism and denial, Xander.
