I don't think it's harder to buy into CGI at all. I've seen movies where I haven't realized an effect is CGI, or even an effect at all, and then learn after the fact that the filmmakers used CGI for something. This is mostly in dramas or other movies that aren't blockbuster action flicks where I'm not actually looking

Somewhere along the line, I got the notion that "Metropolis" was supposed to be Chicago. I don't know why, though.
