Milwaukee bands: I only lived there for a year and I remember going to a few decent shows there, but the band that stood out the most to me (and the one I saw the most) was The Danglers.

I've seen Black Eyed Snakes a couple times and loved it. Great stuff.

I've never cared all that much about Barenaked Ladies, I've liked a couple songs but that's about it. Then a friend of mine won tickets to a one off show they did in Minneapolis for a radio station and she drug me to it and I had a blast. While it didn't make me a fan, I gained more of an appreciation for them than

Back in the day (Portrait of An American Family, Antichrist Superstar era) Marilyn Manson put on a great show.

I've seen KMFDM once and it was fun, but not great.
My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult is one of the best shows I've ever been to.

Various videos I've seen online make me think a Robbie Williams show would be quite entertaining. Unfortunately, I don't think he'll be playing in Minneapolis anytime soon.

I'm not sure who I've seen the most, but it would be either Tori Amos or Mike Doughty.

Because of the new film Lady Macbeth, I've been listening to the Shostakovich opera Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District a lot.

Gay For Play Game Show is so much fun. Kristen Johnston should be a permanent member of the cast/panel (and she should be a permanent judge on Drag Race, too).
I like to think Snatch Game on Drag Race and RuPaul's Gay for Play Game Show is directly responsible for ABC bringing Match Game back.

I've not read Nikolai Leskov’s source novel, Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District, but I love the Shostakovich opera. I'm looking forward to seeing this film.

My first Live In HD screening was Julie Taymor's take on Mozart's The Magic Flute and I thought it was spectacular and reminded me that Julie Taymoor is one of the best theater directors around.
I truly didn't catch the bug, though, until I heard Bartok's opera "Duke Bluebeards Castle" starring Jessye Norman and

I recently picked up a vinyl copy of Cowboy Junkies Whites Off Earth Now! (Mobile Fidelity 2007 reissue) and it gets played quite a bit. I especially like their cover of Springsteen's "State Trooper."

A couple weekends ago I dug the DVD of their Farewell concert out of some boxes and watched that. I wish I would've been able to see them live.

Not a bad choice for a first jazz album.

a few years back, I downloaded a collection of Ligeti's complete piano works, but I've not listened to it in some time. Your comment inspired me to queue it up.

"4st 7lb" off of The Holy Bible has got to be one of the most disturbing songs I've heard.

Great Manic Steet Preachers album.

Regarding Glasper-Ndegeocello connection, I'm not sure how these two ended up working together and I'm not sure how many collaborations they have done. I'm only aware of two pieces they worked on together: Meshell Ndegeocello provided vocals to the track "The Consequences Jealousy" on Glasper's Black Radio album.

Have you seen the documentary Wagner and Me?
It's about Stephen Fry (the British actor/writer), who is Jewish and lost family members in Nazi death camps, and his love of Wagner's music and his attempt to reconcile that affection with Wagner's anti-Semitism and the Nazi appropriation of Wagner's music.
There's

On the jazz front, one of my favorite artists is pianist Matthew Shipp. I've been listening to and really enjoying his recent trio album Piano Song (feat. Michael Bisio on bass and Newman Taylor Bakker on drums). Some other recent additions to my collection are:
