That film is the only film to ever give me nightmares. Even though I didn't find the movie to be particularly scary while watching it, that night I had dreams that everyone I knew had been taken over by an alien.

For me, it was the Harmon family and specifically Dylan McDermott's character that made me want to check out of the first season of American Horror Story. Jessica Lange's scenery chewing is what kept me coming back for more.
I watched the Criterion edition last night and, to my untrained eye, it is a thing of beauty. The colors are vivid, the blacks are deep and the sound is amazing.
I picked up a copy at lunch today and I can't wait to go home and watch Rebekah del Rio sing Llorando in HD.
A Criterion edition Mulholland Dr? I need a copy now.
Stimulate away!
I loved the house stuff, but Johnny's descent into addiction and mental illness and the letters from his mother, Pelefina, are some of my personal favorite parts of the story (the letters from Pelefina are heartbreaking). Maybe that's because I watched a friend suffer from addiction and mental illness around the time…
That was a lot of fun.
When it was revealed that Alex was secretly working for the DEO, my first thought was that I hope she works with Kate Spencer and we will get the DC TV version of Manhunter.
I think the only film that freaks me out more than Audition is Gaspar Noe's nihilistic drama Seul contre tous.
For me it wasn't Danielewski's signiconic style that made Only Revolutions so difficult. What made it a challenge for me was that he wrote the story as an epic, free-verse narrative poem.
A few years ago, author R. Scott Bakker wrote a review of Infinite Jest and in the comments, he made this reply regarding pretentiousness:
Volume 1 was excellent and I can't for FedEx to deliver Volume 2.
DaVinci's Demons is a guilty pleasure and I'm excited for this, the last, season.
I discovered Whose Line Is it Anyway? thanks to the reruns aired on Comedy Central. Oh how I wish Clive Anderson was still involved with the show, he was such a great host.
I loved Willow as a kid and I love fantasy novels, so when I found out that they decided to carry on the story with a trilogy of novels, The Chronicle of the Shadow War written by Chris Claremont and George Lucas, I had to read them. They are among the worst books I've ever read.
I've been a bit obsessed with the cast recording for The Light Princess (music/lyrics by Tori Amos and book and lyrics by Samuel Adamson) since it came out on 10/9 so I listened to that, a lot. I did put it aside long enough to also binge on some older Sondheim stuff: A Little Night Music, A Funny Thing Happened on…
On October 9, the cast recording for The Light Princess (music and lyrics by Tori Amos, book and lyrics by Samuel Adamson) came out and I listened to it on repeat all weekend long. It is quite good. I hope it gets a Broadway run.
Love the Tilda Swinton answer from Molly.
I would want to assume Stephen Colbert's life just as he was about to speak at the 2006 White House Correspondents dinner and just laid in to W and his administration.
The most h ever.
