I'm a big fan of Strauss's operas. Salome was my first Strauss opera and might remain my favorite. My first experience with the opera was watching the DVD of the Covent Garden performance from about 20-25 years ago that featured Maria Ewing as Salome. Wow, what an actress. Perhaps Salome is not the ideal role for

I enjoy both Arrow and Flash and I will take any spin-off that Berlanti is able to come up with. IMHO, Cynthia Addai-Robinson is a great Amanda Waller and I would love an Amanda Waller/Suicide Squad spin-off.

Some recommendations:
Minnesota Orchestra's recent recordings of the complete Beethoven and Sibelius sympohonies are wonderful. Osmo Vanska is a magnificent interpreter of both composers.

After reading the Bad Religion Primer yesterday, I spent most of the day listening to punk and hardcore.

Thanks to a punk obsessed roomie who introduced me to Bad Religion, I know consider No Control one my favorite albums.
Bad Religion adjacent: about a decade ago Brett Gurewitz collaborated with Atticus Ross and released the Error e.p., which featured Dillenger Escape Plan's Greg Puciato on vocals. It was so good.

I recently discovered The Budos Band. Good stuff.

When work is really crazy, Éliane Radigue's Trilogie de la Mort is something that gets played quite a bit.

I listened to an interview with Danny Elfman earlier today which inspired me to put on Only A Lad.

Upvoted for mentioning The Current, pretty much the only radio station I listen to.

Martha Argerich is one of my favorite pianists and I will occassionaly start my work day by queuing up The Argerich Collection 2 - The Concerto Recordings. It's about 7 1/2 hours worth of outstanding music.

A favorite harpsichord piece of mine is Haydn's Concerto for Harpsichord and Orchestra in D Major.

Some of the albums that get the most play while I'm working are:
Equilibrium by Matthew Shipp
Art of the Improviser by Matthew Shipp
Dsynomia by Dawn of Midi
Green Memories by Sharokh Yadegari, Azam Ali and Keyavash Nourai
Wagner operas - mainly Parsifal and Tannhauser
Tri Repetae by Autechre

I would love to be on set to watch Gaspar Noe do his thing. The intro scene to Irreversible would be interesting to watch being filmed as would pretty much any scene in Enter the Void.

For me, Best Visual Effects would go to Interstellar for the amazing work they did in rendering the black hole.

I went on a trip to Europe a number of years ago with a guy I was dating and I was really into Skunk Anansie at the time. Their album Post Orgasmic Chill had just come out and the video for You'll Follow Me Down was in pretty heavy rotation on MTV. The relationship fell apart during the trip. I still enjoy Skunk

The beats are quite good and Bjork's voice sounds great; however, for me the amazing string arrangements steal the show on this album.

Some of my favorite albums of the year are:
Tori Amos - Unrepentant Geraldines
Meshell Ndegeocello - Comet, Come to Me
Zolo Jesus - Taiga
The Notwist - Close to the Glass
Brian Eno & Karl Hyde - High Life
BANKS - Goddess
fka Twigs - LP1
How to Dress Well - "What Is This Heart?"
Old Man Glood - Ape of God I and Ape of God II

I got around to reading that, too. I enjoyed it. It was the first book in a long time that made me laugh out loud.

I loved that book.

After multiple previous attempts, in 2014 I finally managed to read Gravity's Rainbow.
