Ah, thank you for that. I had forgotten that Brigadoon was an "inspiration".

What was the simple rule of the town? Weren't they ghosts or something?

Same here…for so long, whenever I perused the horror section at the video store, I saw the cover of Two Thousand Maniacs. The box had a picture of a lady with blood pouring out of her mouth. It seemed forbidding and not like the numerous Friday the 13th sequels I had rented up till then. After reading an article in

C'mon Warren, let's get this scavanger hunt started!

Somebody forget to tell you how nice you look, today?

I smell a Cutting Class sequel.

Sounds like Phantasm was inspiration for Supernatural in general. Two dudes (brothers in latter case) driving around in a badass muscle car, with badass weapons fightin' monsters. If only Phantasm could've had that bad 70's rock soundtrack.

WARREN!

Ratches leave?

Well, maybe I'm a sick bastard but "John Lithgow is a fucking sicko—you will not believe the disgusting shit he has in store for Denzel Washington" sounds up my alley.

Haha, I forgot about that. The more I think about it, with the inclusion of Lithgow, this movie doesn't sound like it'd be out of DePalma's wheelhouse.

Surely you can't be refering to the scene where the protagonist is forced to have sex with a prostitute, who ends up giving him the clap?

Heeyuhh?

I believe that was Dumpf's roast.

Return of the Living Dead.

I dunno, that Justin Timberlake guy seems to have it goin' on. At least according to ET, Access Hollywood and Extra.

Man, I hate when people throw away a perfectly good white boy.

Also something involving a giant cgi grasshopper?

There are several sequences where that approach really works for me, but then the majority of the film kinda meanders with mundane scenes that don't really engage (I guess any scene that doesn't have Goblin in it).

Damn right. That was one of my issues with the original. The characters were clearly written as preteens, but because of certain reservations, everyone cast was in their mid twenties, making much of the characters reactions to the things happening (and dialouge) around them seem ridiculous.
