I've been pretty androgynous most of my life (hopefully more in a Bowie way than a pat way, at least i like to think so), and while a few people have approached me respectfully, most of them have been confrontational because they're assholes.

I never really saw the sketch as saying anyone was in the wrong…Pat was being Pat and the other characters were trying to be sensitive. I just saw it as making painfully drawn out fun of an awkward situation.
