I was wondering that too. IIRC their entire 'hood wasn't happy with the military presence, so it wasn't like they didn't have solidarity. And they were dragged out of bed at night(? it was night, I forget if they were asleep). What makes them think the neighbours were any more alert or would have been any more

Everything you said.

Agree with the idea, but would prefer something slightly larger and defensible, a medium sized yacht. My idea of a houseboat may be dated. From searches size is less of a difference between the two than seaworthiness.

Upvoted for "ridiculous violence".
IKR? I think they were trying to have Andy "hurt something that the guy who tortured him loved"..which can be a thing for a certain type of character. Unfortunately they established Andy as a direct, uncomplicated person, not an angst ridden mysteryman. He should have shot his

And

I was waiting for it to focus on Strand's boat, possibly overrun with zombies. But no, just water.

Yep, Strand is intriguing. He seems to have some narcissist traits—cool in the line of fire, not because he's brave, but because he doesn't feel like normal people. In the short term this can be an advantage. Where the rest of us are freaking out or worrying about loved ones, to him it's just another sticky

Ah, the classics!

Is that anything like the Low Road? ;p

> Doctor and a bit disappointed we didn't get the classic "the…HELL?"
expression of her and the other guy seeing the interior of the TARDIS.

You are not wrong…and I speak as a Rose fan. Someone else said this once: Rose had great chemistry with the 9th Doctor. With 10, it got a bit too soppy.

Honesty? On reflection, I'm probably reacting to Clara's expected emoting. If it was Donna, my knee probably wouldn't have jerked as hard.
But I stand by the over use of apparent absolute death as a cheap ploy in NuWHo. Let's have more captures or simple disappearances.

Well, we'll just have to disagree.
There is a difference between appearing to die because he fell off a cliff and you don't know what happened, and appearing to die, oh because he looks exactly like the dead people. This is not the same as Missy and Clara being zapped by the Daleks. That was written well.

Ha, ha. But that's the point. There is no—nada, niet, non—dramatic suspense because we know he won't be dead—if for no other reason Capaldi has a contract.
Don't get me wrong, this was a good episode. But another two-parter, following a two parter, was trying enough. I could have accepted it without the

Yes, I do. But he is in charge of the show, and is more or less the reason NuWho has turned into a melodramatic mess too much of the time.
Edited post morning coffee.

I just caught up. What is the point of Evil Babs? Sure, if her character was supposed to be Gordon's Psycho ex before he met Batgirl's mum. But this is supposed to BE her mum.

I approve.

Just realized the second season started. Oops. Doesn't look like I missed much.

Hoping this finds you in your comment notifications…Are you aware season 4 is airing? Is AvClub planning to review it at all?
