Spain. I wish they'd at least bothered to film in Italy.

I laughed so loud at "………good hearted". The faces Clause and Narcisse made! I feel robbed of Catherine already.

So where's the Emmy for this?

JESUS IS STRONG AS HELL! I was absolutely mesmerized when the choir went there.
This was definitely one of my favourite episodes from this season.

Well it is and it isn't. The main difference would be that on the show Henry isn't terrible person, so that changes the dynamis between him and Elizabeth quite a bit. Many things stay the same though.

Was lowkey hoping the one turning out to be mad would be Bothwell. Seriously, he's a faux bad boy and therefore a bore. On the plus side, Will Kemp is killing this thing and I'll miss him if he gets murdered even ten minutes before the show is over.

I think the intention was to do color blind casting as they would with Shakespeare because it's totally the same thing lol

Yes dialogues for her shows are usually soapy in general, but on this one? The amount of exposition alone, the prince's ball drama, 16th century people claiming they'll marry for love or going "fu*ck the patriarchy"… I've been rolling my eyes a lot.

I completely agree, there's no need to overread this episode.

Well I've finally seen it and it's… Not that good, although not entirely bad. Everyone in the cast gives their all, but dialogue's pretty terrible verging on embarassing, and it gets more so the more emphatic is the performance. I also wish they'd just picked a style in terms of costuming: Juliet is wearing couture,

It's only good when the characters aren't white.

They are truly awful. Not just incorrect for the period, but often ugly too. And I really don't get this obsession with leaving men with the tolerably authentic pieces whereas the women have to wear things that just…. Don't make any sense….

I don't know, to be honest. I can't speak for the whole of Europe but Italians are raising eyebrows.

Excellent review, however as an Italian I have to point out it's "nonna" (nona means 9th).

Not going to comment on this show just yet, but how is The White Princess cinema-worthy? It lacks scale, its locations are clearly poor cousins of its predecessor's and its original costumes, especially the women's, are not just ugly but also cheap looking.
This isn't to say SSC will be better, at least from the looks

Favourite scene.

I couldn't listen to anything Maya was saying. She was too annoying. Rowan is annoying too, but at least he's usually right.

Word. I even agree on Kerry's villain acting, it pains me to say it but it felt more like "trying really hard to whisper and sound scary" than anything else. Still, she looked gorgeous.

This would have made an excellent series finale. Sure it's it's bleak and all but a different one, where everyone's good and happy, wouldn't convince me… I'm almost tempted to leave it here, but I know I'll be back for the final season.

This show is an absolute gem, my current fave along with Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
