Sci-Fun. You know, short for Science Function.

Or for the ladies, has-bian.

Probably 90% of the AV Club consider themselves Homer scholars. Just not in the way you mean.

I'm relieved. But also a little disappointed.

Maybe I've been reading too much Savage Love, but I read "A woman did not finish her boyfriend’s uncle’s Hamburger Helper" and it took me a good 30 seconds to realize that isn't a weird euphemism for a sex thing.

Must have been tricky for Franco to pretend to love both Quinto and Roberts, given the fact that he is already in love with - and common-law married to - a Japanese body pillow.

We'll always love her, buuuuut

Like the opposite of Childhood's End. The aliens are here to usher us into a state of constant infantile immaturity.

I was going to write a joke here, but I now have this sudden urge to examine my genitals in the bathroom…

You neatly sidestepped what I was talking about by replacing "science and facts" with "personal whims." But even so, federal employees have duties - to fulfill the obligations set out for their agency, to uphold the constitution, to serve the American people, and to behave legally and morally. Obviously, how they

I mean, retweeting an article critical of Trump for removing "climate change" from the WH website is one of the things the NPS just got in trouble for. If you don't see how politicizing science and politicizing historical context are two points on the same spectrum, I don't know what else I can say here.

But the problem is that history, science, and general facts are now "partisan." The NPS, the EPA, the NSF - should they be silent about climate change, for example, because one political party has decided to ignore the science behind it? Or should they be allowed to do their jobs?

What Bogira is asking is pretty simple - how do you define partisan? If there had been more people at this inauguration than Obama's and the NPS had shared those pictures, would that be partisan? Is it "partisan" to share any factual information comparing two different political parties?

The fact that providing factual historical context for a public event without commentary or editorializing is considered partisan is deeply troubling to me. They are retweeting a NYT reporter providing coverage of an event they are hosting. That is something the park service should be able to do.

Let's not forget - the National Mall is in fact overseen by the NPS. Showing pictures of it during various inaugurations is well within their purview. The fact that it's embarrassing to Trump isn't their fault.

I am going to imagine that before someone gets hit by one of these satellites, there is about 45 seconds of descending slide whistle and a slowly widening shadow on the ground around them.

"dulling secret societies" is a pretty telling typo here.

I really love Detour, though (the actual, 1945 one). For some reason, it was one of the most quoted movies among my group of friends in undergrad. Like, 1. Anchorman; 2. Princess Pride; 3. Detour

My money is on one of his personalities is allergic to water

That header pic sure is riveting. Goggins looks like he's trying to remember if he watered his plants.
