Right, you need a senate first before you can get the court back up. And also the cabinet-level appointments.

There's never a lot of need for laws to be passed (which is why repopulating the House can wait until the next election), but there's a huge need for high-level appointments to be confirmed, and an only slightly less urgent need for congresses warmaking powers.

This whole 'why haven't any senators been appointed' business is pouring concentrated acid on the ropes suspending my disbelief and will finish eating through them in one, maybe two episodes…

It just means you're too young to have experienced Pump Up the Volume on HBO.

Are they going to do the ending gimmick like the original release, with a random different one each showing, or like in the videotape/cable/dvd/digital version with the three alternates every time?

They didn't specify 9/11/01, so there could have been a major attack early in the Santos presidency on that date.

I must say that I don't believe that _you_ would try to get away with rhyming 'castle' and 'rascal'.

You know that someone wrote, and then cut '99 percent? 24 more?" just before Kiefer's '25, dammit ' line.

Steven King should now write "The Murder of Steven King by the Coward James Patterson"

Grey's Anatomy spin-off, or Dwarf Fortress obsidian farming botch? You decide!

Yep. I wouldn't mind if it kept it going long enough to give us a good, ER-style solo hero doctor story when the prison has a riot or a flood or, I don't know, a volcano, though.

So did Grey's get bumped to make room for Ru Paul or frozen pizza reviews?

Cheaper than a monkey and a plywood violin, I guess.

shoggoths, like penguins, are Antarctic, not arctic. It's a wendigo that eats everyone up north.

'most divisive', not 'clearly considered the worst by everyone'.

Given the regionality of some of the other picks, taking Popeyes over Bojangles as your Cajun Chicken exemplar is completely unsupportable.

When correctly viewed, everything is lewd.

Dammit Amazon, that's not how "The Cosmopolitans" is spelled.

When do the two timelines diverge, anyhow? Fairly early in Kirk's childhood, right, and Sulu is younger than Kirk, right? If it's before Sulu's birth then they really actually are different characters (thanks to butterfly effects) with the same name, genetics as similar as brothers, and similar upbringings, in which…

It means he can probably ride a dragon without being eaten, for one thing.
