Blank Check will be talking to Peter Serafinowicz about The Phantom Menace for a special live episode!

Iron Man 3 is totally an auteurist movie (maybe moreso than Guardians and definitely more than the Russo brothers movies), between the metatextual hijinks and 80s buddy comedy thrills (right down to having James Badge Dale as the perfect sub-villain heavy).

Soderbergh, baybeeeeee! Nearly 30 films and not a single bad one (note: if you disagree, you are actually, provably wrong).

I think Hateful Eight is going to get a Jackie Brown-esque cult following in the future. It is a rotten movie, but that's because it's a great representation of the absolute rotten beliefs and assumptions America was founded and expanded on.

This Iron Man 3 slander will not stand. That movie rules and should be the guiding light for Marvel movies, not the weird pariah.

Tommy Lee Jones is playing Brad Pitt's dad in James Gray's sci-fi epic Ad Astra (no, I won't call it by just its title, that first part is essential).

She's also in Peggy Sue Got Married.

Lawrence Kasdan has obviously written many great things in his career, and I'm sure he's a nice man if you get to know him, but it's still extremely weird to see people online maintaining that the vision of the man who brought you Dreamcatcher must be protected at the expense of those pesky comedy directors. Like, Rob

If you didn't like those two, I guarantee you won't like Somewhere. The Bling Ring is a bit more of a comedy, so you might like it more, but I dunno.

I think even more than Lord and Miller, I really feel for Bradford Young in this Han Solo debacle. Obviously, having your collaborator(s) removed and another one foisted upon you must suck (especially when the new guy is probably a lot more conservative than you're used to or even what you just had), but this is

A Netflix TV series where she plays a wrestler!

Three, with the aforementioned Paterson and A.I., plus Bernie.

I am similarly deficient in the films I've seen from the list, but you should give A.I. a watch, it's maybe Steven Spielberg's masterpiece?

They still have time to add a recurring theme. I'm personally hoping for more American Beauty score selections as the show goes on.

My god, the target practice bit looks almost exactly like the opening of Under the Skin.

I didn't expect this series' one connection to Car Boys to be Truman Show references, but I'll happily take it.

I'd like to say that there is absolutely no way in hell anybody complaining about Sofia Coppola making privileged, white, etc. movies would like the end result if she made movies about poor POCs or whatever.

The Coen brothers start shooting their western TV show, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, next month.

Then it'll be all Beguiled all the time, baby!

This is how you welcome back someone brought back from the brink of death???
