Don't worry, everybody, Disney is looking at a great director to take over Han Solo… Ron Howard.

Dunkirk will be Christopher Nolan's shortest film since Following, at a tight 107 minutes.

This decision makes so little sense otherwise that I have to imagine it's Kathleen Kennedy going Gus Fring on them in order to put the fear of God into Trevorrow.

Given how much they had filmed, I'm surprised Disney couldn't keep quiet and suck it up until post like they did with Gareth Edwards.

Lord and Miller are off the Han Solo movie. :-(((((((

I'm not going to write a full review because these particular bones have been picked clean, but Wonder Woman was really good! The final battle got into my problem with the third act of BvS, which is that really strong people punching each other a lot ceases to be cinematic or particularly exciting after a while, and

Daniel Day-Lewis sez Paul Thomas Anderson's Phantom Thread will be his final film before he retires.

And of course, Twitter was all mad at her for that instead of being mad at the fuckin' doofus saying that her and her movies are failing feminism at large. Maybe there are reasonable people who hate Sofia Coppola and her movies out there, but they sure as fuck aren't online.

In the interview I was alluding to, between GQ (noted feminist publication) and Sofia Coppola, she "I don't know her"s the Bechdel Test, and it's kind of glorious.

Love it when people start interviews by interrogating female directors about why their movies almost don't pass the Bechdel Test.

Also, seeing Naomi Watts kick this much ass in the immediate wake of seeing her play the I Am Sam version of Janey-E in The Book of Henry is pretty jarring.

I'm finally watching episode 6 of Twin Peaks, and;

Is it selfish of me to be totally unmoved by the plight of those who weren't expecting mainline David Lynch from Nu Twin Peaks?

There is no guilt about the suicide. It is never explained what the girl thinks about the suicide (although that's par for the course for her, because she barely has any dialogue and characterization), she just tearfully runs to Naomi Watts when the news comes.

The Book of Henry: I'll keep this short (the long version, which is very long indeed, is here for your enjoyment). All of this movie is very bad, but it devolves with each act break until its third act is a calamity on a scale I can't recall encountering in many other films. It also features what might without

The Book of Henry has attached itself to my brain like the evil version of 20th Century Women, so okay on the whole.

Hey now, if that happens, I'm setting up an actual safe space for us on The Solute!

Dean Norris is coming for us all.
