I don't know how you went from an unrepentant shit-slinger to our premier political commentator, but you honestly annoy me more now. And posting that second link is pretty fucking rich coming from someone who once pointedly misgendered glazomaniac.

I now believe that this timeline was irrevocably damaged when Thomas Newman didn't win Best Original Score for American Beauty.

Seriously guys, I've been legit obsessed with 20th Century Women the past week and you're lucky this is the first you're hearing about it from me since I posted my review. It's sooooooooo fucking good.

1. Manchester by the Sea
2. La La Land
3. Moonlight
4. Arrival

R.I.P. Emmanuelle Riva

So the Muslim ban means that Asghar Farhadi can't attend the Oscars this year when he's nominated for Best Foreign Film.

Oh please, terrible jokes are the only thing keeping me alive at this point, continue.

Kurt Eichenwald replied to the tweet of a mutual follower (who quoted a dumb tweet he made), which means I got to tell him that The Informant! is one of my favorite movies and that he needs to shut up about the dumb point he was making. It's rare that I have even a semblance of a good day on Twitter, but this is that.

That's Miranda July's next movie, right?

TIL Kyle Mooney wrote and starred in a movie that debuted at Sundance yesterday. It also features Beck Bennett, Mark Hamill, Greg Kinnear, and Kate Lyn Sheil and is scored by David Wingo. I've never wanted a movie more than I suddenly want this one.

I thought the general reaction to it, especially now, is "oh no", especially in the middle of as epic a winning streak as Spielberg was on in the early-to-mid 2000s. I think it's quite charming, and Hanks is really good in it, but I'm honestly not sure how widespread that belief is.

That too, but I wanted to maintain some hipness cred that I'd immediately lose by admitting that I like something about The Terminal (I actually like a lot about The Terminal and think it's kinda underrated, and I believe I have to leave the group now).

There's also Catch Me If You Can and Tintin for him in a jazzier mode (and Robert Altman's Images for him just being fucking weird).

Thank you, I genuinely needed a laugh on that level today.

Pardon my language, but Jurassic Park is a dang good movie.

In a blatant and disgusting attempt to get me to pay attention to sports, it was "M. Night Shyamalan Night" at the last 76ers game. I assume that meant the players had to avoid wearing the bad color.

As much as I loved Amy Adams in Arrival, if she had lost the nomination to Annette Bening, I probably wouldn't be complaining.
