The episode was fun while the kids were kids. Trying to make the mom childlike is a failure.
It is nice to see the writers threw in a dick joke though. Have to keep up the high comedy.

It was a precise term with a scientific meaning, but it has gone beyond that meaning.
More interesting is the lack of concern for other terms that had a similar path. "Don't say gay" encouraged people to say "lame", which is a term for something with gait problems due to injury or a physical different advantage. …
The humorousness of the host doesn't matter. It is scripted entertainment. I don't know how funny Joel or Mike actually are, but both worked as hosts because they could pull of the scripted material (mike more so than Joel, who was sometimes good and other times seemed like he hated the show and everything it…
It is a problem because it is the same joke over and over again. Only so much you can do with idiots getting high or smarts getting high or people accidentally ingesting drugs and getting high. Lazy writers look for easy "joke" that isn't actually a joke, but people still laugh because we have all been there, maaaan.
More than that. The people who saw Star Wars when they were young forced their kids to watch this trash. It was a part of daddy's childhood, so it should be a part of junior's, too. The series represents of a part of the parent-child bond. Generations can connect through it.
Star Wars is only genius for proving that the simplest of plot can be drawn into a film series and tchotchke empire simply by moving the setting to space. No one will notice the tropes and clichés in space! It's brilliant!
The prequels are big budget trash. They look pretty, and have unneeded "action" to prevent the…
Yeah, Dodd sees women as weak, which is why he wants his family to think that talking is the reason that Rye is dead. Failing to act (which is killing) hurts the family.
Dodd is blaming Kansas City to show that there is no room for negotiation. While Ma was talking, they had already killed her son. Had Otto still been in charge, Rye would be alive because he would have killed that KC sons of wenches (strong language, sorry). Ma shouldn't be running things, and Dodd was right all…
Peggy is a caricature of modern feminism and the coming bull-doodle (pardon my strong language) of 1980s greed and self-centeredness. She doesn't want a family and doesn't particularly care for her dumb husband. As much as she doesn't need a man around, he does all the dirty work for her.
All for the terrific payoff that Gayle has to be accepted for being a horrible person because she is the guy's sister in law. It doesn't matter that she makes life horrible for everyone around here. Selfishness and possible mental disorder need to be excused out of familial bonds…
The host doesn't matter as long as the delivery is there. They are not ad libbing, so it is just reading lines. The host also would have to be smaller than the show. Couldn't be a famous as that would ruin the experience of it.
Gypsy was poorly utilized. She was just used as extra character. I am a fan of cambot's work. I would consider her to be the 2 best robot.
Mike clearly isn't an actor, but he at least seems likable as the host. Joel didn't. He really seemed like he hated his own show. I don't get that. He has some decent episodes, but I would much rather watch a Mike than a Joel. I don't hate Joel, but I am not excited to see his hostings.
Characters go out of their way to put up with and even encourage Gayle, which allows for the writers to push her into being worse and worse.
Peggy Hill is anti-sitcom, which makes her annoying, but also genius. Typical sitcom mom is smart, good looking, and saves the day after her fat stupid husband screws everything up. Peggy Hill wasn't that. She was dumb, close-minded, and unattractive.
Gayle is a cliche. She is the crazy cat woman who always screws…
That comment would only be fair if Gene didn't change to be more of a dick as story requires. All characters are selfish, but Gene is selfish and stupid in a Jerkass Homer way when it is too hard to write a decent plot around him.
And the show makes them even worse in an attempt to be extra funny.
I wouldn't mind so much if they were consistently stupid, but the Flanderization of these two is annoying. This episode was really bad in that regard. Everyone became retards because the story required it.
It is already his. She told him that. As the first born son, he has had his eye on his birthright since he was young. Also why he is so upset he never had a boy to pass the family business on to.
Dodd always planned to fight. He attacked to the KC boys first. He doesn't want to give up his birthright.
Bear is more like his mom, as is his son. Dodd is pure Otto. He enjoys the infliction of pain and misery. So does his daughter.
