None. You can't fall into this kind of thinking. Things in your past can't be "ruined" by things that happen later.

Proving Ebert was right about that movie, one post at a time.
Wither subtlety and complication and a recognition of multitudes and individuality? Not in a "why ladies be so crazy?" post, clearly.
Remember the ghost train scene when his wife and child get on board? CHILLS.

Just anecdotal, but: I am in my 30s and always preferred him to Colbert, who's quite clearly a Millennial-oriented guy. Stewart was all about the real content, angrily delivered but earnest, whereas Colbert struck me as just an excuse to laugh at the kinds of jokes that, coming from someone else, would obviously be…
I can imagine this being hard to quantify and qualify, and I think any reasonable standard would still allow Fox News to retain its News label (because as biased as they are, I think they do very, very little outright fabricating; it's all sins of omission, emphasis, and analysis). Plus, regulatory labeling of media…
It won't eliminate liars, but it might increase the likelihood that they will be caught.
Fair enough, and I'm on board with sacking them too, every time it's proved that they lied.
Each case has to be treated for what it is. Obviously there are worse things you can do in life than tell a lie about your exploits to millions of people. But for me, that's easily enough that you should lose your news anchor job.
"that's pretty goddamn harsh for any kind of infraction in any industry."
If that were true, why wouldn't NBC want to get credit for his firing and do it outright, rather than let it happen nebulously months from now?
Boss: You've been entering false timesheets for years. Did you think we wouldn't notice?
Employee: Well, yes.
Boss: OK. Take six months off. See you in the summer!
They need a new corporate policy of fact-checking the stories that their anchors tell (when not at the desk; presumably they do a measure of that for the actual news broadcast, though I'm guessing not enough of it), at least when those stories are significant and news-related, like Williams's were.
Slap on the wrist. NBC bears very little responsibility for Williams's personal lies up to this point, but they will have a lot of responsibility for the lies this narcissist tells when he comes back from suspension. Sacking him should have been an easy decision.
Upvoted for totally unrelated reasons. :)
Six month suspension. I'm calling that a win for you. I'll give you your upvote as soon as I find something you said that I didn't already upvote. :)
I like this song, as 90s pop/alternative goes. Surprised to find myself in a musical minority yet again as far as AVC comments go, but I shouldn't be, it's the norm.
Well, I'll count myself as "awkwardly but tellingly right" then.
What kind of cult is living in southwest Oregon?
