When Better Call Saul was announced my first thought was, I wonder if they're gonna show the Kevin Costner impersonation.

It's an infinitely more complex issue than a teenager committing suicide because of a metal album. Patton references something that many atheists say, except that Dawkins isn't one of them. He's actually quite thoughtful on the subject, but that wouldn't fit the narrative Oswalt is creating.
Mankind's inherent cruelty and stupidity predates religion.
You could substitute the word "evbio" and that would apply to just about any celebrity or public figure in the world (and you'd be right more often than not). Still I think it's fair to say his opinions have a little more gravity than Ben Affleck or whoever.
Fuck it man, let's cuddle.
Ahh, it's the internet guy that calls everyone angry whenever his mistakes are pointed out to him.
People who are familiar with Patton's tweets know that he does these long-form jokes all the time.
Every time an internet commenter mentions SJW's or "PC Police", an angel gets his wings… while making that pretend jerking-off motion.
I agree with you, and with Patton's broader point.
I think Maher is a fairly equal opportunity offender of all religions, including Islam. That doesn't mean his commentary is particularly insightful (or funny), but I will give him a little credit for not backing down in the face of quite plausible jihadist violence, a la Charlie Hebdo.
I'm not sure that anyone outside of atheist/evolutionary science/blowhard media circles even know who he is.
If this were Family Feud you'd have a big X and a buzzer sound when you submitted your comment.
Patton lost a lot of points with me when he grouped Richard Dawkins in with Bill Maher and Fred Phelps (of all people).
Hey, can I also get 200+ upvotes for typing some dismissive, contrarian bullshit?
And how about the big question that no one seems to be asking?
Classic movie. Would love to see a new Hoop Dreams documentary focusing on the current state of basketball hopefuls, particularly in the shady world of AAU ball.
I don't recall that scene bothering me, but I probably need to see it again. Nolan frustrates me because he comes so close to making a masterpiece just about every time out. All his movies are basically one big montage. I always wish he'd slow down; It's like he's afraid that by doing so the audience will start…
It has its problems to be sure, calling it "a mess" seems overly harsh. But I can see how you'd think that if you didn't even realize there were two robots.
Man, I could point out some pretty lame past AV Club "barbs" and we'll see how well they hold up under the almighty microscope that is the internet. Oh wait, they were ironically lame jokes, so it's ok to be lazy and unfunny!
To be fair, Richie did adapt his song from the USA channel's b-movie series of that name.
