I was 11 when Letterman hit the airwaves. I recorded and watched the finale with my 11 year old son last night. It was his first sight of a Letterman show and he laughed hysterically at the jokes, many of which went over his head. Circle complete.

She looked a little too much like Sally if you ask me.

Don will never change. From season 1 to the series finale, he is almost identical. All the other characters have gone through at least style changes. Don is an ad man and always will be. It is the only thing that truly fulfills him, more than family and friends which is why he essentially has none. He feels guilt in

YES. It took me out of those scenes but was rewarded with the ridiculous sight of him naked in the beach chair. That was a total Mr. K move.

Meredith was better secretary than Caroline. There is a better place for her.

Yes. And for a quick second I wondered if he was just desperate for new reading material and was checking out her book as much as her.

Please have the last episode be a time jump where Betty is already gone and Don is actually living with the kids: Sally at school or in Europe and Bobby and Gene happy to be home with Dad.

Why , oh why, did we have to wait seven years for Peggy and Roger's drunken hang?

Loved this. Dave likes Glen Hansard too.

I agree, Paul is fantastic. But in addition to that, I heard an interview in the last 18 months on WNYC of a staff writer who was promoting a book (I think. Just looked, couldn't find it). The interviewer asked about working on the Late Show. He disclosed that Dave has incredibly varied musical tastes. Music piped

Letterman never "gave a rat's ass", as he would say, and I thank him for it. There are plenty who constantly feign interest in their guests to the point that none of it means anything. Dave was genuine. Yes, he was not always the warmest host but the fact is he could be. When Dave is tickled by a guest (Jennifer

So many things to love about this episode: Peggy and Stan, Don and Roger, Pete and Trudy. One thing that just tickled me was Stan's hair flip as he sat down to work next to Peggy. Killed me. Also, I was a little nervous that Ted's new girlfriend was going to be Diana.

There was a moment after Don told the realtor to make up a story, then the Peter Pan pitch, and then had to help Mathis with his screw up where he just looked like "doesn't anyone know how to sell anything around here?"

I had to make myself see that it was sarcastic rather than felt or saw it was sarcastic. I thought it was an odd thing to say to a near stranger. I don't think it made sense that she should assume he'd get her sense of humor when they hardly know each other.

Surely this has been said but…Harry is the worst.

Glenn's no-nonsense, honest talk to Nicholas (after showing a lot of restraint dealing with Nicholas last week and compassion for Aiden) made me think he should be running the place…which sadly makes me think he is not long for this world messed up world.

Yep, hard to get past that photo. Thank goodness it wasn't so noticeable during the broadcast.

I think Robert was trying to be cordial and familiar in the situation since the families are uniting. Once a member of the family, first names are used. It was a slight to continue to call Tom 'Branson' after he wed Sybil. Also, Atticus gets angry at his father for calling Rose 'Lady Rose' deliberately distancing

So many impure thoughts. Any chance for a 'Thorn Birds' episode?

Mo Rocca?
