True, but anyone who can say no to Roscoe Conkling can hold his own with Walter Sobchak and a few nihilists.

I'm wondering if the wax Chester A. Arthur was too pricey. I'm sure the garments had the highest thread count, the robe was lined with real ermine and Arthur's estate required daily maintenance of the sideburns.
Here in Seattle it's buds, if you know what I mean.
Von Sydow was great in Shutter Island. Best performance in that film.
Agreed. 1-2-3 was Wilder's last masterpiece. Cagney's incredible as always. After that…
Vanilla Sky. Cameron Crowe's attempt to combine rom-com with existential horror. Weird how he lost focus after Almost Famous. I know he aspired to be like Billy Wilder, but not the post 1-2-3 Wilder.
Nope. Liv Ullman is a renowned Norwegian actress who was considered a muse to Ingmar Bergman (they lived together for a time but didn't marry). If interested check out Persona, Cries and Whispers and Scenes From a Marriage. She, Bibi Andersson and Max Von Sydow were regulars in Bergman films.
That's right. The uncut "Cavender is Coming" episode reveals Carol Burnett's guardian angel was a delusion she created to hide from the fact she killed her girlfriend.
I'd decry the fact that the great Liv Ullman had to spend time considering arguments for Shrek, but then I remembered Ingmar Bergman's favorite birthday ritual was watching The Creature From The Black Lagoon.
Good point. But suddenly "The future's uncertain and the end is always near" doesn't seem like such an abstract line.
It's actor out on loan. Sorry for the snark. I'm suffering from mute nostril agony.
There are a number of Denny's and Baker's Squares here that were once Sambo's Coffee Shops.
Assuming big tobacco is pulling the strings on Jeff Sessions, I foresee an eventual reintroduction (after pot is fully recriminalized). American Spirit presents America's Got Talent.
The most egregious example being Gordon Carroll, producer of Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, who willfully butchered the film in editing because he hated Sam Peckinpah and wanted the film to fail in order to teach Sam who was boss.
I don't think the Sprint ad with Paul above will allow any references to a competitor.
You are a very good writer and an insightful critic. I wish you all the best.
Thought it was a good time to see The VVitch, since the initial buzz and backlash have passed. I thoroughly enjoyed it but was too sleepy to keep from nodding off a couple times. I will happily rewatch when I'm more awake. If there is a criticism, it was too easy to root for Thomasin since the rest of her family were…
Another reason to hate Passengers is that the writers likely re-worked a much better Weird Science story called "50 Girls 50" by Al "Mad Magazine" Feldstein. The original story was a cold-blooded space noir, not a misguided rom-com. Here's an article comparing the Feldstein story to the movie: http://jalopnik.com/the-p…
St. Emilio! I loved his book, which is the definitive portrait of Kubrick as an excessively demanding boss but also a warm and loyal friend. Even Ryan O'Neal, who wouldn't participate in "Life in Pictures" or comment on working with Kubrick after he died, contributed a blurb. High praise.
If I win Powerball or Mega Millions I'm buying Burt Shonberg's portraits of the Usher family used in the Corman movie. The most exquisitely creepy paintings I've ever seen.
