Got it. Thanks.

Perfect reference, but it's from Brown Shoes Don't Make It.

Arranged marriages? Who funded these studies, the Gilead Institute for Traditional Values? Even if that is true I think it only proves there are many who who find a way to cope with unfulfilling marriages for the duration.

You might like Seven Brides as performed by the Dibley School For Boys. Much more decorum, and even Plato is discussed at one point:

Doesn't surprise me Warner Brothers would pair them all up so neatly, but I'd still rather meet Neville and Luna for brunch than the others.

It's wallpaper. Proof that Hollywood studios lost their way by relying on spectacle over substance to compete with TV. Plus the story's creepy paternalism. And the mom's complicity in getting Gigi hooked up. Too bad Hipgnosis didn't pick a better cast recording to feature on the cover of Pink Floyd's Ummagumma.

You're thinking of Maurice Chevalier singing "Thank Heaven For Little Girls" in Gigi, no?

Neville and Luna were a good match though.

Thanks. Now I have Gary Puckett and the Union Gap's "Young Girl" playing in my head…

That's exactly what I felt watching the fireworks at Canada Place Saturday night.

I'm a Seattlelite enjoying my 4th in Vancouver where Asian, European, Middle Eastern, Indian, Pakistani and First Nation residents and visitors seem remarkably comfortable with each other. Refreshing and inspiring.

I thought it was a celebration of the character actor who played Renfield and Fritz in the early Universal horror films.

I would quench my post-dance thirst straight from a pitcher of burgundy a la Clemenza.

Anyone else mention Connie's wedding or Anthony's first communion bashes in the Godfather movies?

Concert for Bangladesh with Gimme Shelter; also Soylent Green with Westworld. All at the Anaheim Drive In off Lemon and Orangethorpe.

Absolutely. After hearing Paperback Writer, Revolution, Happiness is a Warm Gun, Tomorrow Never Knows, Dr. Robert, And Your Bird Can Sing, Flying and all of Pepper in mono I can't listen to them in stereo anymore.

Going back to mono with Phil Spector, Beatles, Stones, Dylan, VU, Kinks, Beach Boys, Who, Love, Beefheart, Byrds and even some early Bowie. The best stuff punches through the car speakers. Recent mono reissue of The Doors debut is mixed way too low and sounds like it was recorded straight off an LP. Disappointing.

Gratuitous Pono mentions are also a big reason why Waging Heavy Peace is such a frustrating, time-wasting read.

So The Keg is still around in Canada? They disappeared from the Seattle area sometime during the aughts.

Agreed on all points. Check out footage of them live. I think it's easily available on YouTube. Miles looks easygoing, even buoyant, because he's playing with musicians he doesn't need to worry about. They challenge and inspire but don't upstage each other.
