I finished reading the massive collection of George Perez's Post-Crisis Wonder Woman. The omnibus contains all the issues Perez drew. The first couple of issues, during which Wonder Woman takes on Ares, are the most enjoyable. I like Greek mythology in general so the issues that drew form it were the strongest for me.

I've meaning to check out Orc Stain since I real like Stokoe's style. His other work Godzilla: The Half Century War not only had phenomenal artwork but a really compelling story to as well.

I was wondering about how the character was being used in other comics. It was neat to see such a crime noir influence character in the context of a superhero comic.

The way he draws the costume is fantastic. I love it when he draws it in silhouette but has the goggles still be visible. It's like Batman and his white eyes, it gives her a distinct and iconic look.

I was also surprised at how much I enjoyed JL: Gods and Monsters. I haven't really enjoyed the last couple of DC animated movies so this one felt like a breath of fresh air. I really enjoyed the new take the DC universe and the story as a whole.
As to what I read…
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 1: This is the first half of

I read ODY-C #6 and Transformers vs G.I. JOE #8. Both were pretty decent. It's nice to have ODY-C back and while I miss the Gods and their plans for Odyssia, I'm looking forward to seeing the where the new arc goes. I thought TvsGIJOE was a little on the short side and while the two double page splashes were nice to

Thanks for following the recommendations! Of the ones listed Catwoman and the Spirit sound the most interesting to me, although the artwork in his Parker books make them seem worth picking up.

Honestly I would expect no less from a Justice League story called Rock of Ages.

One of the great things about Mad Love is Bruce Timm's artwork. I have always been a fan of his style but this story was the first time I had seen him illustrate a comic. Turns out he is a master at it, with an excellent sense of pacing and panel layouts. I kind of wish he would do more comic book illustration instead

I plan to. I already picked up Rock of Ages and WW3, mostly because of their titles.

For me artwork always comes first for comics. I have picked up comic books on a whim purely because I found the artwork to be captivating. Personally I think it has to do with the fact that I draw a lot and want to make a living doing that. I like seeing the way different ways artists draw and I find it to be very

I've read a lot of things this week!
-Batman Zero Year: Dark City. I liked this better than the first half of Zero Year. The stuff with Riddler and Dr. Death was great. I also enjoyed how we got to see more of Gordon's and Bruce's interactions with one another than we did in Year One.

A similar series that I would recommend would be Thor the Mighty Avenger. It's a short, self contained run that is a great modern introduction to the character.

Noelle Stevenson's Nimona was an unexpected delight, worth it both for the story and the artwork. I really do love Stevenson's style. I find that I gravitate towards artists who have a more cartoony style, for lack of a better term. Her artwork is like a combination of Kate Beaton and Adventure time. The story itself

It's definitely worthwhile. Above all else it's just a really fun Batman story. It's got this noir atmosphere but the tone is more adventurous than dark and gritty.

I have been curious about Zero Year purely because of the artwork. Capullo's drawings and the colouring in particular look amazing.

If you are looking for something self contained Batman: Death by Design is perfect for you. It's essentially a short story that takes place in it's own world. It was written by Chip Kidd and beautifully illustrated by Dave Taylor. His style is very unique, as it incorporates a combination of inks, charcoal, and other

Oh I really hope Suicide Squad is better than that movie.

At the very least a darker, more serious tone is a much better fit for something called Suicide Squad.

Francavilla's artwork is the main reason why I'm interested in Afterlife with Archie. His artwork in Batman: Black Mirror was fantastic.
