It seems that Nick's new "voice" in the writers room comes from Brett Baer's 19-year-old son. That explains so much, and angers me even more. If you want to write a comedy about friends fresh out of HS or college, GO DO THAT. Please stop trying to force these characters into angst-y teenage plots when they're in

:::wild applause:::
All of it.
Every single word.

Honestly, I give it 3-4 episodes into season 4 before they've painted themselves into another corner and it starts to feel like we've "been here before". I just don't think this is going to open up as many creative ideas and story lines as they think it will. The break up made for a pretty fantastic fallout episode

I totally agree. And since I can't see them NOT giving in to falling back on Nick and Jess anytime they need to add dimension to the show, I fail to see where the break up was necessary at all. If you're always going to fall back on them and use them as the driving force of the show, then just keep them together so

I wish we would have gotten a little more Schmidt with the Abby arc. Even just using those episodes for an arc JUST for Schmidt and leaving the sister addition out of it would have been nice.

If she has someone else to lean on (sometimes LITERALLY when she's with Jake Johnson), she seems okay. I think she's really uncomfortable being herself around other people. Playing a character is something completely different, but when she's asked questions as herself, she just can't handle herself very well.

They haven't done anything to convince me that they're really broken up. I mean, I know they ARE, but if they're going to go back to acting like they always did (when they were never "just friends" to begin with), what was the point of breaking them up? Because the audience will think it's funny to see them date

And I imagine season 4 will start off after the time jump of the summer hiatus, so I think this "mourning" period in these last couple episodes is all we're going to get and they'll probably be completely "over it" by the time we return. Certainly not looking forward to the next chapter, which seems very repetitive

I absolutely got that impression too, and I'm hoping that doesn't end up being the case. When Winston got excited and asked if they were getting back together, she jumped in so quickly to correct him, while Nick just turned to look at her.

I wish someone WOULD have moved out, honestly. It would have put JUST enough honesty/reality back into the show for me. Right now, they've sucked out just about everything that made the show something people could relate to.

An utterly forgettable ending to a season that fizzled down to nothing after starting out with such great potential. What happened to that great momentum they had built in the middle of the season from Clavado through Exes?!? I have to say, I'm not sure I'll be back in the fall. What was once something truly

Absolutely agree. There was no depth to these characters that we've known for 3 seasons now. It really felt like they were trying to introduce a new show, one that unfortunately doesn't look all that interesting to me. And can they please stop with the recycled lines and plot points? It's getting ridiculous at

Of course they aren't (trust me, I have a 9 year old and I see what's coming) but they could have went for FUNNY as opposed to VILE.

I'm really disappointed in the show for having a child actor repeatedly calling Schmidt a "flamer". I think there were plenty of other ways they could have poked fun at Schmidt without stooping to such a dismal level of humor. Yes, being PC all time takes some of the humor away, but that was just unnecessary,

And by kind of pushing it aside and making it seem like all the declarations are so easily forgotten by the characters, will the audience be as invested the next time? It's going to be hard for ME, and I was completely, 100% drawn in by their relationship. It's what happened for me with Schmidt and Cece when they

"And episodes like this are nice and all, but string a bunch together, and it likely wouldn't amount to much worth noting."

I actually wish that episode had more Coach and less Nick. Something I never thought I'd say. I know they want to go back to a S1 dynamic, but Nick was NEVER like this. I don't know why they seem to think that giving everyone more to do in an episode also translates to a regression in their characters.

I miss the SMART humor they used to do so well. Nothing wrong with transitioning to more of an ensemble feel, but I think it was missing something (not even in regards to Nick/Jess). It DID have a S1 feel, and for me that was the problem. Because we've known the characters for 3 years now, so they can have a lot

Not what I expected before the season finale next week, I found it to be kind of a mess.

I don't actively "quit" shows, but I'm not feeling any interest in what they're suggesting is happening from here on out.
