This season was AWFUL. Over the top acting and ridiculous stand up routines instead of actual plots. The first 2 seasons were amazing, when the characters were relatable and funny just by being their weird selves. Now they just turned them all into morons.

Very true. Although I guess it would have been funnier if it hadn't been their go-to Nick persona so many times prior to this.

Even the flashback to when they were together had her ignoring him. At this point, I feel like they're just mocking the whole thing.

The way they're writing Nick and Jess this season is ruining the show. I'm not even talking about their interactions together (although, those are absolutely terrible). They've turned Jess into a complete ditz and all Nick does now is scream and act like an idiot. I used to enjoy Jake's drunk acting, but now it's

Their interactions aren't very……..well, ANYTHING. If dialog has to keep telling me that characters feel certain ways, that pretty much means the acting/chemistry and/or writing really stinks.

On it's own, if this season had been the start of a new series, I probably would have loved everything so far. But as New Girl, I barely recognize it. It's really hard to reconcile the fact that these are the same writers/actors that gave us episodes like Injured or all that amazing chemistry in season 2. It's like

Stereotype subversion used to BE this show. It was hard to ever be offended when they did such a good job of turning things on their head. Now, as much a I hate to be one of "those" viewers, I can't NOT be offended by how they handle the characters.

I think she shot scenes for the Halloween episode last year that weren't used.

Too many times this season, I feel like the male writers are using the show to play out weird mid-life crisis fantasies. An all-out brawl between Jess and Cece? Really?

If I look at this season as it's own entity, yeah it works. But as the 4th season of the show New Girl? It doesn't make sense and I'm getting bored and annoyed. The break up was horribly written, but all the interviews from the writers made it sound like it was going to be used to open up more storylines about exes

If this were a new series where we hadn't SEEN them together, I'd no doubt love it and think this season so far was hilarious. As it stands now though, I'm having a hard time enjoying anything, because none of it fits with the previous story that had been told.

It's the fact that all but one of them lives in that loft. They have to move some people around, it's getting ridiculous.

I agree with the first paragraph, but when you disregard Nick and Jess, you're throwing away the LARGEST portion of character/series development of the first 3 seasons. They spent 3 darn seasons building up their entire relationship and now they're trying to reset everything. That isn't interesting OR funny and it

They change the characters every week, and it's almost to the point where I don't care about them at all anymore because I don't "recognize" them anyway. If they want to put Nick and Jess on the back burner for awhile or go in a different direction with the whole comedy vs. heartfelt aspect, that's fine. But when

The Office

Right? LOL!!! It's just unfortunate, because the first 2 seasons were seamless, and other shows go on for a LOT longer before they completely lose their edge. I guess I thought this show had a premise that would last at least a little longer……….

If these were 15-year-old kids, it would have been really funny, but these characters would have been using landline phones even before the cordless.

I'm so confused as to exactly WHAT this show is anymore. I can't even explain it. You used to be able to relate to it, but now it's just zaniness on top of ridiculousness. Which, I guess is fine, it's just really confusing as a viewer. Is this how it's going to be from now on? I just…….don't know what mindset I'm

There have been so many times where I've wanted them to revisit the circumstances with Pete and Peggy's baby, but then an episode like this comes along and I'm glad they never did.

After reading all these interview articles since the finale aired, I can say with almost 100% certainty that I won't be back in the fall. I really love(d) this show, but you're right, they're all worse off now than in the pilot. Not only that, their characters have regressed so much that I don't even recognize them
