Bold of you to assume that republicans care that he lied under oath.

This is their worst nightmare, pretty much. One of their own who will not be bribed or cowed by anon MAGAheads who are shitting themselves in anger that Trump’s pick could be such damaged goods that they have to step in and take the hits for. They can wave off her testimony and still vote to confirm, but again, he’s

If she wasn’t such a demur woman; if she had presented herself hostile in the slightest they would have a different story to tell. None of them have said they don’t believe her - or at least that SHE believes it. This is the reason they didn’t want her and others to testify; why they didn’t want to do the additional

In my own mind, driving home for lunch, I’m thinking, maybe Senator Graham is worried that if White Republican Men start being exposed HE will be exposed, lifelong bachelor that he is.

I mean I don’t want Avenatti running for president but I am FINE with him being the one taking down this garbage administration. He is slimy and shady AF but he knows how to play their game

OK, I’ll say it.... Brett Kavanaugh she be disbarred, and possibly catapulted into the Sun, but god-damn that is like the worst picture to use of the latest witness/victim to come forward. It’s not just me right??!? ....that huge happy smile, not really the most appropo of “I have some very serious, horrible testimony

At this point I think we can call this “Classic” Avenatti.  Threaten something damning.  Give them a chance to clear the air (or more likely hang themselves.)  Then swing the hammer.

There’s. NEVER. just. one.

Right?! These Republicans must have a pretty low opinion of men if they assume that all of you have sexually assaulted someone at least once.

Was just going to say this. Let’s go ahead and agree to teach boys to treat girls as human beings, teach them consent. When we have a group of men who have grown up believing that they can’t just try and shove their dick in anything they want, then they can try being on the supreme court again. I’m fine with 20-30

I’ll do you one better. Here’s how this shit is going to go down.

Well if nothing else, gerrymandering has no impact on Senate races, which are statewide. But I 100% agree that Dems do not, not, NOT want to get confident. Look what happened last time we were confident (sobs into pillow).

Gerrymandering means nothing in a statewide race. Did the borders of Texas change?

I’m pretty sure the 17th amendment says Senators are elected by popular vote. There may be other means of suppressing votes, but I’m not sure how gerrymandering had any impact.

Err... just to point out, but gerrymandering can’t and doesn’t affect Senate races, which are by their very definition statewide. Whether Beto wins or not against Cruz, there’s no impact from gerrymandering, just the borders of Texas and who votes therein. Which isn’t to say that Republicans in Texas and other states

Gerrymandering has no effect on statewide races -- voter suppression does though (oh HI questioning citizenship of voters at the borders!)...

How does gerrymandering affect a statewide Senate seat? If Beto gets more votes, he wins, right?

At this point I feel like the GOP is purposely trying to use this as a metaphor for how they feel about women in general.

And SHOULD he be confirmed: every one of his judgments gets questioned.

The only thing that can stop Kavanaugh from being the next SC justice is if he has a fatal incident of some kind before he is confirmed. There could be a video of him sitting down to dinner with Dahmer and they’d hand-wave it away and vote to confirm him anyway.
