I had an interesting tipping moment last week. I was visiting a vineyard in Bend, OR, and decided to ship some wine home to Boston after the tasting. My server had included the shipped wine in the pre-tip total along with the tasting and food I had ordered. He was a super good kid and gave me what turned out to be

If you’re in the New England area, Polar has a pretty good Diet Chocolate Fudge soda.

My first job was working in an ice cream shop, and this reminds me of how to make an egg cream.  First you don’t add any egg and then you don’t add any cream (I do realize this recipe has cream).

I had a fun episode with a third party app delivery the other day. The driver just left a seemingly random bag of food for me. The name wasn’t right. The order wasn’t right. I’m not even sure the restaurant was right. The kicker was, the delivery service wasn’t even right (I ordered on GrubHub and the bag was for

Why is drinking American beer like sex in a canoe?

If there’s no Pepsi Blue, I don’t want it.

I’m more of a whisky drinker than wine drinker these days, but due to a weird set of circumstances, I won a bottle of Opus One in a whiskey raffle. I knew it was supposed to be special, so I thought I would save it for a rainy day and instead kinda forgot about it. It got mixed in with some whisky bottles I had in

Exactly.  While almost all Caribbean medical schools work off of a profit motive, some of their graduates are able to get terrific educations.  For anyone with that sort of pedigree to progress beyond a residency to a subspecialist fellowship track needs to show spectacular board scores (and other accomplishments) to

And yet they don’t.  They still come to the hospital or clinics when things are bad (or just to come in and refuse everything, which is somehow more frustrating).

I have some Facebook friends (two nurses I used to work with) who have really been pushing the ‘paid actors’ narrative.  I unfriended them, so I don’t know if they lost steam after the initial flurry of posts.

I’ve always loved the male name Leslie.  I don’t know if it was affinity for Leslie Neilson or Les Nessman as a kid, but I dig it.

When I was a medical resident, I had a senior whose name was Buffy.  Clearly she didn’t think that that name was going to fly as a physician, so she went by B. Marie.

Speaking of which, was there ever an update on Stephen Miller?  Just curious...

The ‘shy Trump voter’ is someone who believes that libruhls will take their guns, force them to have abortions, and give all their jobs to blacks and Mexicans who thinks Trump should grab fewer people by the pussy.

Peanuts, coke, and bourbon is also great

This bottle is awesome (Iron Maiden fan or no).

I always relate Tab with a graduate student of my mother’s.  She was from a very rich family and wore all of the stylish clothes of the early ‘80's and drank nothing but Tab.  I wasn’t allowed to listen to rock music and she used to give me records on the sly.  Styx, Asia, Duran Duran, Def Leppard.  I thought she was

Funny Games is great too.  I felt that The Strangers was more Halloween-y with the use of masks and such, whereas Funny Games plays anytime.

When I was a resident in the early 00's, Fresca had just come out with their cherry and peach variants. There was an ICU nurse who would leave me a 12 pack of Fresca every time she knew I would be on (in a motherly way, not a romantic way), so I have a big heart for Fresca even now.

Trying not to repeat things other folks have said...
