One of my best friends is a world renowned breast oncologist.  Imagine the words he has to pronounce!  He still says “Chi-poll-tay” 🤦‍♂️

Jeni’s has a goat cheese and cherry ice cream that is out of this world.

For anyone in the Boston/Cambridge area, the Starlight Lounge does awesome Sloppy Joes on Wednesdays as a special.

I ran into the opposite of this once. I had to go to Bar Harbor, Maine for a class and my itinerary was Pittsburgh->Boston->Bar Harbor. However, the Bar Harbor airport was having trouble with their radar array and needed visibility that was not available in northern Maine in October, so my flight up was rerouted to

Get ready to see a lot of light whiskey making a comeback.  With MGP throttling down the amount of actual high age-statement bourbon for distilleries wanting to source, for some, the only way to put a high age-statement product out is to use light whiskey instead of bourbon.  Penelope, High West, Single Cask Nation,

I was told that you should put reds into the fridge for 20 min before serving and to take whites out of the fridge for 20 min before serving for quick and dirty temp management.

The strawberry ones used to be mega-sweet.  Haven’t had one in years, though.  Pretty much settled on the fig as the only “good” Newton.

I don’t claim to be an expert on anything besides what I like to drink. I was once told that Micheladas with tomato were Mexican style and without were Cuban-style, but have no evidence beyond that. It probably doesn’t help my knowledge base that I got hooked on drinking them in California rather than somewhere like

Not exactly the same, but I have a friend who runs an independent whisky bottler. When times are lean, he acts as a brand ambassador for an importing company. On his personal FB timeline, he announced that such and so whiskhy was mindblowingly good, and everybody got super excited. On the group chat for a whisky group

Pacific Pickle Co has a great michelada shrub (more of a Cuban style without tomato). I use Modelo Especial over ice, that shrub (usually 1 oz to a 12 oz beer), roasted ground cumin, celery salt, and a Tajin rim for my micheladas.

Does Auntie Anne’s still do mini hotdogs wrapped in pretzel?  Haven’t been to one in ages.

I’m mostly a whisk(e)y drinker, but I like to learn more about other spirits as well.  Pre-COVID, my SO and I went to Napa and at each winery, I asked questions about a new fad of aging red wine in ex-bourbon barrels.  To a person, the vintners were frustrated.  They would say, “Wine should taste like grapes, not

It’s funny. Traditionally, ethylene glycol was used in anti-freeze. Propylene glycol is often sold as “non-toxic” anti-freeze, which is funny. We are not allowed to use ativan drips in the ICU, because the diluent they are in is propylene glycol, whose use can lead to metabolic acidosis.

Here in Boston, we have something called Bitcoin Pizza.  It says it’s the first “decentralized” pizza restaurant.  Don’t know what that means.  They only have 5 pizzas to choose from.  They appear on apps like GrubHub, so they seem to take regular cash.  I’m not willing to spend actual cash to find out if it is any

We had a super foggy day here in Boston a few weeks ago. I passed the remains of an accident where it looked like two cars on a busy road had just frankly run into each other head to head. Likely both going too fast with poor visibility and one pulled into a turning lane or something.

A few years ago, I had a Cadillac CTS (I know, not exactly the same thing) and my father asked me why I got a car for black people. We don’t talk anymore. So, it can be for relatives of assholes too!

Thanks for the reply.  I’ve actually had it.  I’m going to be leaving Boston to split time between Pittsburgh and Norman, OK.  Learning about real estate in very different markets.  My primary residence is going to be in the Pittsburgh area, and in the good school district real estate even there is pretty out of

While I agree with your general point, I would love to know where a 6-800K 3BR house in Boston is. It would either be crazy old, an incredible fixer-upper, or in a very undesirable location. I don’t live in a particularly desirable suburb, and median house price around me is 950+.

I watch way too many old British TV shows, so I was familiar with the chain and was super surprised when I was driving from Richmond to Boston, when I stopped at a rest area that had a giant Pret-A-Manger. I think it was in Maryland, but I can’t remember.

I guess, theoretically, if you have a house, car, phone contract, job etc before you ruin your credit and don’t try to change them after you have, you could skate by with bad credit.
