Quite a lot has changed in 15 years. That would never happen now.
Walla is actually a word in Arabic/Hebrew (I have no idea who it came from first but Israel has a news and email service called Walla, also). It’s like, wow, awesome, omg, etc.
I’m not saying it wasn’t a BAD experience. I’m not saying I enjoyed intervening or that it wasn’t upsetting for me. I’m not saying that I didn’t intervene by yelling back at my step dad and that everything was totally okay after. It was really ugly. I did it because I felt it was going too far and I was worried for my…
Still a big fat NOPE.
I would still veto the shit out of that, as a parent. Sorry. It’s not happening. My kids can go personally expand their worldview in other countries when they’re adults. They’re not going to a country in the middle of a very bloody and horrific war, even to visit refugee camps. An adult can make that choice for…
Came here to say that. So is she dating a married animal? Extraterrestrial?
I honestly fail to see the problem.
This is one of the most bizarre things about the French.
Um, I think it’s a valid concern to not want your children to visit a war torn country where there is daily destruction, bullets, and bombs. Yeah. I’m gonna go to bat for him on that one. That is not a situation I would let my MINOR CHILDREN enter. Nope.
I apologize, really, I just couldn’t help myself. I’m always too late for the grammar jokes.
Denial does not LEAD to mental illnesses. Denial can lead to bad choices, but not mental illness. Your concern is weird. I actually have a variety of mental illnesses where avoidant behavior is part of them, but denial or being avoidant is not a cause of them. It’s a result.
Unrelated to the leg washing thing: does anyone else think Jimmy has been going completely over the top with Edgar this season? Like before it was just some asshole remarks but what was it, the second episode? He was going in on Edgar and I was like, HOW IS THIS NORMAL WHY IS NO ONE STOPPING HIM? Like it was clearly…
That’s a broad brush. My brother and I have both intervened in fights between our mom and my step dad (my brother’s dad). There was a lot of yelling and cussing, which happens when my step dad gets really angry (because otherwise he never cusses), but that doesn’t mean anything...nefarious or indicative of something…
Sleeves that reach your knees?!
That’s because they were part of Sears, that their quality went down.
Who said ANYTHING about mental illness? You need to back up. Not everyone who does odd things is mentally ill.
But is he as cute as the Shell?
You’re obviously not in the same place her husband was. He didn’t seem to outright reject the entire notion of marriage, he was just eh about the prospect of doing it. But he decided her strong need was more important than that. That was HIS decision.
Yeah but then I’d have to drive a PT Cruiser and that is never happening.
