I don't know if anyone at Gizmodo has watched past the trailer linked in the post, but I like Battleground and feel it's a good example of low-budget, quality entertainment.

I read down the comments to see if anyone else had picked-up on the Golden Girls overstep. My impression was that Blanche owned the house and was taking in roommates for expenses. I don't recall any mention of a mortgage and she didn't seem the type to have one. There was never any threat of foreclosure and the women

It's probably not already a law because prior to the last time it failed, no one probably asked. The article doesn't say why it didn't go through in '06, but it uses the term "drafted", so maybe it didn't get onto a committee schedule or there was some other limitation of time.

The best thing about McDonald's in France is the same thing that I like about them in the States: clean, convenient, American-style flush toilets.

Dan Harmon supposedly created a show based on his study group at the community college he attended, so I can sort of look past the "write what you know", but the tweet from Lesley Arfin is a pretty damn offensive false equivalency.

Rice could help geographically balance the ticket. She's from Alabama and has spent a large part of her adult life in California, but I'm not sure how much of an attraction she'd be in either locale. My gut says that she could give the Republicans a slight boost in the South, but I don't know that it would be enough

I think the pics are great, as is the post. Great work!

Cobie Smulders is walking and talking with Samuel L. Jackson in the fourth inline clip and she makes a brief appearance in the sixth. IMDB confirms her participation.

I didn't know this movie had Robin Sparkles. Cool.

I can't quickly find them, but judging from the Fringe promo, it looks like we may have an explanation for some of the set and leaked photos which have appeared lately.

They may have used it in "Calvin & Hobbes" and perhaps one of their strips is what @ManchuCandidate had pictured, but I'd call "tralala, don't mind me" as a life reference because it existed before and outside of the comic.

As someone who doesn't always look at Deadspin, now that I've become acquainted with his writing, I'm kind of pissed they've been hiding Drew over here.

The link claims that some were baffled by Brownback's veto, but I have to wonder whether it was something akin to an anti-union stance. A couple of weeks ago, I heard a story on "All Things Considered" about a move underway in several states to restrict barber poles to signifying only licensed barbers.

It's sort of like the difference between ecotourism versus strip mining. I don't know if the $2k for plant gathering is annual income, but it's still something of a gamble and not as "sure" as what the neighbors have done for years.

Interesting site. Thanks for the link

It may take a little more time for the networks and studios to realize that some people will just stop watching a show, if it's not online. Other than news, I watch only an hour or two's worth of television on a television device, everything else I watch is online and if a show is not available, I'll just something

Big ups for Greg Kinnear.

I was watching and enjoying it, but then they stopped offering full eps on CBS.com.

My understanding is that he only had the rights to some Beatles songs, sold half of it to Sony and then borrowed (from Sony) against the rest. There was a Rolling Stone breakdown of MJ's empire of debt a few years ago, but I can't recall my login to their site for the stuff open to subscribers and without looking
