That's true about the final answer, but 'show your work' often means that students can get some points for even wrong answers when they take some correct steps in solving the problem. The teachers may assign more weight to the boys' efforts toward a correct answer, or make more favorable assumptions about what boys

The headline seems like it's kind of misleading compared to the block quote.

Agreed, totally. But even so, the unambiguous language is refreshing.

Really interesting response. I listened to the TAL piece and it was really, really powerful. I'm only a casual Twitter user so it's hard to envision how they will get to work on this, but I'm interested to know what kinds of strategies they have in mind.

From what I know of 50 shades, the consensual part is pretty iffy/nonexistent.

I used to work on a hotline and we would get calls like this fairly often. Really sad and scary, and the callers wouldn't even be looking for someone to send help, just someone to hear that they were out there existing, and to speak kindly to them for a minute.

I am assuming you do not work in the restaurant industry and never really have. Aside from corporate chains most restaurants only have the barest-bones semblance of any type of policy or procedure in place, if any at all. No HR, no formal training at hire, none of that. It's completely standard in the industry.

There's a difference between saying one generation is 'post-racial' and saying that we are living in a post-racial era. Not that I think either are accurate, fully.

I have only heard very, very conservative millennials assert that we live in a 'post-racial' period. Most of that stance seems to be occupied by older white people. Just because a generation is less overtly racist doesn't mean they don't think overt racism exists.

Nothing changed except maaaaybe we got a little cozier/safer feeling. Getting married after being together so long was basically not a big deal and way less scary than I thought it'd be.

This million dollar idea is free to a good home, because I'm never going to do anything with it:

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! No.

that's a great story, but turn that frown upside-down bc your mom knew what was up.
