They are irresponsible drivers. That's why. I stick to the slow lane and cruise along on my commute. Far less stressful than the driver in the left lane who needs to be going the fastest.

Average, slow, and quick are terms that depend on the average performance of peers. Performance changes over time.

Or it means it has become pretty standard. Not slow but not quick. Or we just disagree. Endless possibilities

Im just saying it doesn’t seem quick by modern standards. It isn’t slow either. Just sort of standard. But I suppose it all boils down to perception.

But is it quick by modern standards? I don't think so. I thinks its commonplace and mundane.

It depends on your perspective. It has become common place but it comes down to your perspective.

I can’t tell if you are replying to me or just stating your opinion tangentially.

I would like to point you in the direction of my very first sentence after the quote:

“No matter which turbo your Escort RS Cosworth had, Ford claimed it could sprint to 60 mph from a standstill in roughly 5.7 seconds, which is very quick, even by today’s standards.”

So now I want a McLaren that tumbled down a hill? That makes complete sense

I can imagine how annoying that would be. That said, I was being facetious/antagonistic.

Fun fact: the 1.3l two rotor 13b-re is unique to the Cosmo as well. While the engine is very similar to the 13b-rew in the fd3s, it has larger ports and a better intake manifold. The turbos are smaller though, which partially explains the lower output.

Which is why I noted the exception of a medical issue.

Ok, at this point I wonder if I should just say this for your own edification: If you find yourself driving on a twisty rural mountain road at night, it is within your best interest to drive at a speed that will allow you to come to a complete stop in short order.

My comment was more of a reaction to the author’s contradictory line. Of course no one can know for certain what happened.

So they had good sense if they were going too fast on a dark twisty mountain road to make a safe evasive maneuver around an animal?

But still a closed course. So they were likely driving very differently than how they would drive on the same road if it was open to public and their was traffic present.

True. Which I suppose means the driver likely had poor sense.

Two questions

A reply that isn't outraged that someone called a reckless driver senseless? What's wrong with you???
