Not playing “Mr. Know-it-all,” trying to point out facts that people are 9 times out of 10 unaware.

I see. I didn’t notice a link with those details in the original post and opted to not look into it any further than what was shown on the surface - which is actually how I approach most everything that Consumer Reports publishes.

It performed exceptionally poorly over its mediocre career, performed very poorly at Le Mans when it won, and got lucky once. I wouldn’t call that a legacy. Though people constantly misuse the word “legacy,” so I’ll give you a pass.

“Predicted reliability” is entirely worthless when they don’t bother to explain how they objectively determined that metric.

Jaguar still has a reputation for poor reliability. Had this discussion with coworkers. No one has even a remote interest in the brand because they believe it will leave them stranded.

Yes. Really. They are misguided if they purchase the car without any complaints for paying over MSRP and they are adding to the problem for putting up with the markup.

Legacy of getting lucky in a poor performing car ;)

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha

Cool. Toyota has been doing direct and port injection for years. Great way to minimize carbon buildup. I wish more manufacturers who have embraced DI would do this.

Well... the tuning options with the stock ECU are not very good and wouldn’t support the extensive mods to this car.

The 787b doesn’t bug me at all. It’s a cool car. So is most everything else Mazda put into the racing world in the 90's.

I LOVE thoughs

I was one of the people who brought up the fuel and ECU. This build was obviously intended to make big power, but they left out two major pieces.

This was on oppositelock not long ago. I’ll paraphrase here what I said there:

Before you reply to my 787b comment, please read my detailed description of the 787b’s le mans victory that I wrote last year:

I strongly disagree with your sentiments about the 787b. It was a slow-lucky-one shot wonder. It was junk in a field of cars that were riddled with misfortune that day and the 787 doesn’t deserve to be the only car from Japan to win overall.

I’ll be rooting for the Toyota TS-050's and the C7.R’s.

The Challenger R/T 5.7 is kind of a bad car within its segment...

Scum.

You’re right. I didn’t even bother to guess!
