My take away is that Tesla will say anything to defer blame.

We Need an update on the condition of the Tree
That’s fair.
Those are notoriously unreliable, but would have been smart to mention. If only to mitigate your comment. lolz
Counterpoint: it’s fine, actually. Cars crash when you race them.
It would actually seem the device fell off while I was driving and stuck to that semi, so no malicious intent. Also, can you please leave a copy of the warrant to attach the device to my car for my lawyer to review.
The suspect has not left the Suez Canal for three weeks.
If they’re already harassing you a lot like in this case?
It almost sounds like the removal of the tracking device is basically a legalized form of entrapment - we don’t like you, so we put a device on your car, and if you remove it or it stops working, we have probable cause to turn you over.
The ship’s captain is always in charge and always responsible for the ship. The canal pilot provides advice as to how to navigate. The captain does not have to take the pilot’s advice. All the pilots are Egyptian citizens. Egyptians tried to blame the only female pilot in the fleet, but she wasn’t on the vessel.
Oh, and he looks like Danny DeVito, any time between 1985 and present.
Hahaha, I’m pretty sure the government of Panama is just a drunk guy in a linen print shirt and khaki shorts, sitting at a card table in a 50 year old mobile home. On the table are a rotary telephone, a smoldering cigar, and a nearly empty bottle of rum.
SCA: “Ever Given, we notice your engines are operational, please advise”
“SCA, Ever Given requesting permission to re-enter the channel”
Holy. Shit. I am not well versed in the seafarer and shipping world but this has been eye opening. I cannot believe crews are abandoned so completely they cannot escape their situations. I started reading up on it and this happens all over the world even in the U.S. which really blew my mind. Seemingly the U.S. does a…
The ship has been interned by a belligerent foreign power. Based on my understanding of The Sea, the honorable thing would be for the crew to scuttle the Ever Given rather than let it fall into enemy hands.
They can do it, I just know they have the juice to get these guys freed. They can call up Egypt and be all like “You’ve got a canal, we’ve got a canal, we’re canal habibis, what’s it gonna take to iron this out?”
“The shipping times from this eBay seller in Egypt are crazy sporadic, but they've got the best prices anywhere!"
I saw a headline elsewhere saying that there is a shortage of garden gnomes in England as a result of the ship’s delay.
Surely the government of Panama can wade into this fray and throw its international weight around a bit, right?
If they’re considered abandoned after 2 months, that’s the same for the cargo, so they can check out what's in the containers, right?
