The non-turbo V6 has been kicking around in various Hyundai/Kias since 2012, the turbo version has been in Genesis model’s since 2016. Turbo 4 has been around since 2011ish
Also had a GT1 for about 6 months and I am still raving about it to anyone who will listen. I have it as a daily and have also taken it on a week long road trip. Would highly recommend it for anything but winter duty- I have the RWD and it can definitely get a little tail-happy
I have had a 2019 GT1 for just about 6 months now and I completely love it as a DD. Fun, engaging and quick as hell - but it can also be a complete pussycat when you don’t feel like giving it the gas. The only reason I can think of people getting rid of them so quickly is they couldn’t make the payments..........
I was recently shopping for a new car and I really wanted to love one of these. But the absolute lack of power killed it. Less than 170 hp in 2019 just seems woefully inadequate - especially when that only results in 25 combined MPG.
Having worked with product development teams who do this, I can’t wait for this trend to die a horrible death. All the avatar’s seem to be ridiculous stereotypes that the product managers project onto them. It is a lazy mental shortcut that seems to impress the higher ups but ends up with products that are so hyper…
