I am, to my shame, a 2-time loser. And as such, I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt that no system exists outside of full automation that can keep drunks from driving while also not screwing over normal, rational drivers at the same time.

These were probably 5000 mile “new” demo units driven by the dealer principal or their spouse, who now has a Telluride.

Presumably they gave chase to the point of realizing that dipshit wasn’t stopping, then called it off, ran his plate, and went to his house. That is fine with me, given the totally empty road.

Came here to say this. That might possibly be the dumbest reason I can think of to get rid of a car you “Loved”  and now own and have no trouble with. “I’ll teach those people at Carvana! I’ll sell my car after they already took my money and don’t give a shit anymore!”
