Okay, I may just not understand what Snooder87's “They can’t do that” refers to: they can’t keep making low-budget indies, or they can’t move into big-budget movies. I thought it was the former: If they keep making low-budget indies, they’ll go bankrupt.

“At first I thought it would try to kill me and take over my body, but it turns out it just wants to mooch beer and tacos, which is why Russell is no longer invited to game night.”

You’ve written a comment, and are therefore technically an author, and are now on my to-do list.

How many authors do I have to kill before you people understand the concept of “death of the author”?

I think the MCU TV shows are actually guilty of what some people have accused the MCU movies of: being little more than teases for other things. That’s never been true of the movies; even the least of them always had at least competent narrative arcs for the plot and characters, whereas the TV series almost invariably

If a show had enough material to run for 100 years, you’d think they could squeeze more than one movie out of it.

Why would they go bankrupt? Are they losing a lot of money on their movies so far?

I prefer “the Fanta Menace”

Oh my god! Were the stairs okay?

He somehow already had the reputation for being an untalented, degenerate weirdo by the time I grokked who he even was, but every time I’ve seen him perform in something (most recently Dumb Money) I think he’s come off quite well, so... I dunno. He’s fine.

I don’t know if this is the case, obviously, but religion could have something to do with it. Divorcing might be seen as a sin/failure in a way that infidelity isn’t.

Right? Like, they can’t just fucking say “We’re fine, we’re making great movies, everyone loves us, and we’re just gonna keep doing this”?

I know it’s been eight years, but line of the episode for me was:

“beloved hairless actors”

You need racism explained to you?

Saw Dumb Money on Friday. It was perfectly fine, although I’d already watched Dan Olson’s This Is Financial Advice so I knew the entire story, and DM didn’t tell me anything TIFA didn’t. Plus, DM basically takes the position that the apes are heroes for standing up to the big mean hedge funds, while not delving at all

To be fair, a root canal ranks above those three shows.

Yeah, old-school Star Wars was clearly geared toward kids, with such kid-friendly elements as:
