If you don’t drive a whole lot then you don’t need an (PH)EV either. A gas car that barely ever gets used is just as efficient as no car or an EV. EVs are more efficient the more you drive it.

2nd Gear: Plug-Ins

Who are plug in hybrids for? Honestly, they’re for people like me. Every other week I have to drive between 400 and 500 miles to Ohio in pretty much whatever weather god decided to throw at the midwest. The rest of the time, I don’t have to drive that much- I work remote and when I’m at home, aside

Plug-ins are for:

It will return as a “Camero”. Now hybrid/electric with no windows, just Tank slits and 360 degree video cameras.

It’s great to see 2 execs actually resigning over this. Had this been in America they would have stayed on, collected a huge bonus, and prepared to bravely layoff 15% of the workers.

Well, Ford won’t sell you a Bronco either. Sold out and unable to fulfill existing orders.

The “Trail Boss” pictured with the surfboard has low profile tires. Brilliant.

Ruess is completely full of shit. If GM stopped releasing models because they were late to the party in a particular segment, they would have a model range slimmer than Tesla’s.

I guess when you’re not sure if you have what it takes to compete, it’s better you don’t even try (said no successful company ever).

Reading the comments section in Jalopnik every time there’s a study that says “cars are bad actually” is both amusing and depressing at the same time. We’re all Jalops, we all love cars, but there’s so many things that we use cars for that just aren’t necessary at the end of the day. Some of it can be easily

The report notes that the American Eagle employee manual specifies “the ingestion zone for all aircraft types is 15 feet,” and that personnel should not enter the ingestion zone until an aircraft’s engine or engines have fully spooled down and come to a stop.

Houses are too expensive, so I bought a Porsche.

We can’t even reliably teach people how babies are made in our public schools.

Well!!!! This should put an end to that myth that “loud pipes saved my life”. Or are they going to mount an 18" speaker on the handle bars and synthesize the sound of the ICE?

If you look at the past 120 years, the company has always evolved, never stood still

If it’s hot out, AC can still find cold to pump. “Freezing” is relative. Just like 115 F is “Cold” to a 200 F coolant loop. Even if it’s very cold (for humans) outside, there is still lots of heat, relatively speaking. Heat pumps lose efficiency as temperature drops but it doesn’t go away completely. My home heat pump

The “light truck” and subsequent “SUV” classifications have always been politically motivated junk. Its just funny the way its coming back around.

How else are you supposed to get the bottom clean?

Except they already did small economical EV’s and nobody bought them. Nissan Leaf, VW e-Golf, BMW i3, Chevy Spark EV, Smart ForTwo electric, Ford Focus EV, Fiat 500e.

Now playing

That’s a pretty good Nissan ad. Probably the second greatest Nissan ad ever. After this one:
